Uh I tore out the hanging headliner and washed it? Shopped around for some new headliner fabric....

Been busy the last few weeks moving me and the fiancée in together. Good news is we are renting a garage with the new place, bad news is the other half has already laid claim to 1/3 of it. I'm eliminating my storeage unit with all my jeep parts, and moving it in, once I get that figured out I'll make a place for me to work on some of the smaller stuff I got going on, MJ bed, stroker, axles, etc....

Which one? My MJ is getting a 4.7L probably going to be ethanol injected, the XJ will eventually end up getting a milder 4.6L.

What are your thoughts on a mild 4.5 with a low comp and a turbo?

Turbos are a funny thing, it all depends on what you want to do with it.

This is my standing on how a turbo motor should be built: Turbos like high revving motors, they just keep pumping more and more air as rpms rise. The best recipe for a high revving motor is big bore, short stroke. But high revving means that the power doesn't come on until higher in the rpm range, more HP than torque. I would do something like .060 over, and a AMC 199 crank(3" stroke vs the 4.0L's 3.414"), don't remember what the displacement would be.

Superchargers on the other hand are known for torque. Big stroke also makes torque fast and low in the rpm. A supercharger will help keep that torque curve flat, and higher into the rpm range. Big displacement, 4.6+ would do fine.

See I'm a diesel guy so to me turbos and torque work amazing...

It's all how you size it. Do you have threads on your stroker build?

You should try out a 2stroke turbo and supercharged diesel of Detroit diesel vintage. Talk about power.

Ok I guess I did enough over the last month or so to warrant an update.

New u-joints, hubs, pads, and rotors(all top shelf parts of course).
Yesterday I installed a power steering pump from a 01-04 V8 WJ with the hydraulic fan(more on this later), new radiator, found out mine had a very slow leak that got a lot bigger when I moved it to get to the p/s pump. This should explain why I have been going through about a gallon every 3 months. While I was there I added a p/s and trans cooler for added protection, and a new idler pulley and belt as a lesson learned for working till 2 AM.

I've got a plan to help open up a bunch of real estate in the engine compartment; including cowl induction, 97+ washer fluid reservoir, relocated EVAP canister and coolant overflow bottle.

Shocks, tires and wheels, and track bar are all thats really left to get it lifted and start working on the fiberglass and repaint.

I knew one of the previous owners of my jeep wasn't too kind to it, as evident of the dents in the rocker panels, but it did kind of surprise me to see this, in both door jams.

Stress cracks in the B pilar. Educated guess is this is what happens when you wheel a 2 door hard without strengthening the unibody, not so much of a problem in the 4 doors since they have the extra pilar for the back doors.

Not a big problem for me to fix, just a pain in the butt.

Ordered a Putco headlight harness today, I get a slightly better deal than Amazon though work. Current project is to get the Taurus fan installed and wired up, and LeBaron vents installed, hopefully between now and the 4th.
