So things changed up really quick and now looking for an LJ for the future. Both xj and tj will be up for sale with the axle and brackets included. We will see what comes up, but that's the plan

Why not sell the xj & make the tj an lj or a tj-6 style?...

I need something with full doors, hard top, a/c, room, 4 seats, but want to stay jeep. So with figuring out either keeping the tj and adding all that plus gearing, a 6, and lj'ing it, it would just be cheaper and more practical to just get an lj

Moving to phoenix or Tucson in the next year and probably moving into an apartment where 2 jeeps will be difficult. Also having 2 jeeps that have high miles make for costly continuous repairs and I'm tired of it. That plus tuition isn't helping. So I figured one jeep that has enough room, still has a frame and straight axles, lower mileage, and one with good heat and a/c will last me the next 5 years or so until I can maybe afford something newer. So basically planning for my future

I'll still be wheeling and building the New rig, but will only have 1. So I need to clean this tj up and I'm already painting and cleaning up the xj. I'll need to get something soon because I'm planning a Moab trip in spring

As a college student and previous owner of both a TJ and XJ at the same time, I can assure you that you're making the right move.

I simply couldn't afford to maintain both the Jeeps. Technically, I still have the XJ, but it's parked in the back of my fathers barn for a while... Anyways, I sold the TJ and took out a loan for an LJ and couldn't be happier.

In my opinion, it's the ultimate Jeep. It's the perfect combination of the XJ and TJ, lots of storage room, with the removable top and doors, plus the standard D44 and rear disks. I take the seat out and sleep in the back of mine during hunting trips. Also, coming from a former 2.5L owner, I can tell you driving a Wrangler with the 4.0L feels pretty impressive.

Being a college student with a loan on the Jeep really doesn't bother me, because I honestly don't see myself replacing it. Sure, I'll buy another vehicle once it's paid off, but the LJ is here to stay. You won't be disappointed or regret it if you get one.

He didn't know the size of the lift, but it is running 255/85/16 KM2s. By looking at it, I'm guessing it has a 3-3.5" lift. 6spd manual, Warn rear tire carrier, and some type of engine/tranny skid. I will transfer my stubby bumper and winch from my TJ to this to finish it off.
