Went to go get some gear oil this morning. At a stop light, I see smoke coming from the engine bay. Pulled over and I'm dripping oil very badly. So today I tried to figure out why it was so bad and was hoping I didn't ruin the engine. Turns out the o-ring below the distributer finally gave up. Replaced that and took apart the rear axle to see what I have in the rear for some kind of traction control. Looks like factory trac lok. Any second opinions? I know its not open but I've got 180k miles, I would think the clutch plates would be worn down

Thats an open carrier, not a trac-loc.

Nice find on them bumpers or "bumbers" as they say here in socal... hah
I'm not a big fan of the metal in smittybuilt products, I think it's too soft... but I'm a huge fan of the price you paid!

My son bought himself a TJ. Little, white, stock 4.0/auto 97. Wish I'd have seen those bumpers for him... Your new rig is coming along nicely.

so really nothing new. Installed a "ooga" horn today. Everytime you honk the stock one, you pretty much lose your man card. Bumpers are on and the rear took a nice beating saturday after wheeling. Gas tank got a chip out of the plastic and the beat up the stock skid pretty well. Been looking for a replacement aftermarket skid on CL
