Operation Compensation

Everyone makes a big deal about how they wish they did a build thread for Jeep when they were actually building it up so I am going to make this one as I go.

As for a little background about me, this is my second WJ. I had my first one since I turned 16 and sold it during my freshman year in college thinking that I would be going in a different direction. A few months after selling it the Jeep bug bit me again and today I brought home my second WJ.

Such a nice jeep, seen it in person and it's probably the cleanest wj I have seen so far. Can't wait to see the progress on this thing

Tonight with the help of TJjeepguy and his brother, the projector headlights and HID's went in. The difference is noticeable compared to the halogen bulbs.

Put on flowmaster's super 40 muffler. Compared to my old super 44 on my last jeep this is very quiet. I'm not sure whether the lift has helped to diminish the resonance from the ground but there is very little drone within the jeep which is great. Next on tap is to get an exhaust tip, either borla or someone else, and paint it gun metal gray to start my black and gun metal gray theme.

Just put on a hunter bull bar with the fawkes fabrication bull bar relocation and shackle tabs. Just ordered the shackle tabs from ARB and those should be in soon (thinking of painting them orange). In addition I also put on 1.25" spidertrax spacers to finaly eliminate the rub between my front wheels and front long arms. Going to be painting the bull bar and JCR stage 2 sliders (that are waiting at my house) gun metal gray.

Painted my JCR stage 2 sliders. Wanted to go gunmetal gray but couldn't find it in home depot. Instead I went with a silver paint and am loving the color so far. Next step is to get the bull bar off and match the sliders. I'll post pics as soon as I can get the jeep on a lift and put the sliders on.

Just mounted the sliders with the help of my buddy tjjeepguy. Gotta love having gear head buddies. Also got to get them a little dirty on some trails. Will post pics tomorrow.

Here are the promised pics. In addition I also put on my 5/8th ARB shackles (painted them orange) and put on the JCR window sticker. Is the sticker overkill?

I still can't believe how good the WJ looks with the rock sliders and bull bar. Great job so far.
