Had a leak in the fire wall and turns out ( I know what a shocker) the clutch master was leaking. I guess that explains why my shifting has been getting alittle rough. Removed the old piece of crap and put in a new one.

Also found a tranny mount in decent shape. Should be here in a few days. My current one is rusted out in 2 of the three mounting spots in the passenger side. Will feel much safer when replaced. Hopefully all the jolts don't break when I try to take them out.

Removed my tranny mount/skid this weekend and 4 out of the 6 bolts broke off/nutsert spun free. Also found a few small holes in the frame around the bolt holes. I Cut out the rusted parts and and broken bolts. Will weld in patch pieces with grade8 nuts welded to the insides.
While removing the skid i also found that on the passengers side 2 of the three bolt holes on the skid had rusted all the way threw so there was only one bolt on that side holding up the skid. Found a skid for sale in the forum classified section and plan to install it this weekend after all the welding is done.

It been awhile since I have posted here but I have been slow with progress on the YJ. Currently the jeep is at a friends shop getting a customer roll cage made. Its taking foreverrrrrrr (almost 2 months) but one can not complain when calling in a few favors gets you a free roll cage. I hope it will be done in another week or two.

In the mean time I have started on the 8.8. Currently have the brackets grinded off, tubes cleaned down to metal, and started replacing the axles bearing and seals. The gears and axles look fine so I will reuse them for the time being till I get my 44 rebuilt for the front then I will upgrade the axles, carrier and gears. I also was able to find a good deal on a 4cyl D30 front axle to match the gear ratio of my 8.8 (410's). Cheap way to get through the summer till I get the 44 done.

Now I know by no means is my truck all that tall (on 33's) but this picture just makes mine look tiny. This is my jeep parked next to my friends truck when I dropped it off for the cage.

The cage is officially started finally! It's just starting to get warm out and I am dying to get the jeep on the road again. The JKU is nice but I miss the YJ. Hopefully another few days it will be do e and just need paint.
