NoSlack's 1990 YJ Build Up

Many of you may have seen my previous two posts, covering the disection and build up of my 1990 YJ. This is my first vehicle, and after a year of hard work is finally back on the road, and towards it way to becoming a never ending project filled with various goodies and mods.

When first purchased she was in pretty rough shape. With her pink pinstripes, faded paint, soggy carpet, she was a case of ugly (well, for a Jeep). I decided it would be worth holding off driving so I could make my vehicle the way I wanted her.

I forked out 4,200 for her, and since then have found myself where all my money is going. A black hole it seems. I really have learned alot though, and am loving the entire process.

Heres the beginning of the Build-

Thanks, the flat black grill really adds some nice contrast against the white. I want to throw in a slash of red somewhere, but can't decide how yet.

I'm thinking of going with a mini-stinger style front bumper from "thedirtworx", along with the tire carrier rear bumper from them. Anyone have any experience with this custom fabricator?

Also I need a brand of lights to put in, pref. no drill, rear tail lights-flush mount.

Black door handles should be arriving soon, along with hood catches, and black no door mirrors. I need to buy a spare but funds aren't allowing that kind of spending.

Already thinking of throwing on a 1" body lift, just for the extra hight.

Gosh, I want some Hella's too, a high lift jack, winch, you name it. I found a couple nice trails around the Tampa area in a road trip last week with a buddy- and am dying to drive over and test my new rig out!

I'm going to try to do get a couple flexing shots thown in here soon too- I found a nice little place in the neighboor hood to try it out.

Thanks,

The exhaust came out pretty well actually. Kind of quiet at idle with a low sputter, and when you get on it she has a nice growl for a straight six. Also has a nice pop to it when you slow down. I'll have to post some video.

Its looking really nice but one question, is it just me or is the front much lower than the back? Why is that?

Now that you say that, it does seem lower in the front.

I have no clue why, can anyone chime in?

my Yj if you see the front is higher i have the same lift maybe it is because of the brand of lift or just the weight of the motor

I have a 4" RC, same as yours, and my engine is the straight 6.

I looked at my springs and they seem to be flattening out quite quickly, for the use it has gotten on them---under 100 miles. Only the front springs that is. Or maybe it's just me.
