northern Tj build thread

so after the horrible investment in a a 92 f150 flare side that fell apart within a year I decided it was time to get a new vehicle or "new to me", anyway when i had my truck i was always talking about cutting off the roof and taking the doors off ( I really think i just wanted a jeep lol ) i decided upon a jeep, in march i flew down to toronto the one I ended up getting was a 2004 Rubicon for 11k, it has 124,000 km on it and was from toronto (about 800km south of where i live) after i got it back to timmins i realized that the emergency brake didn't work so i took it to my mechanic because it was still under warranty turns out basically it was a death trap and thew whole rear end needed to be replaced, thank god for that safety guarantee, so a couple days i got her back with all new suspension brakes and axle seals and all the rear bearings fixed haha.

after that i decided i wanted to start buying things for it so the first stuff i got was the bikini top, wind jammer, and duster combo

a couple months later i scraped together enough for some seat covers and a jks 1.25" bl & mml (unfortunately its still sitting in the package)

so now it takes me to today, i am getting the interior line-x'd on friday so today was off with the horrible carpets and all the interior, and cutting the front fenders (atleast untill i can afford the hi-line fenders and stretch kit from T&T customs)

Judging by your pictures it looks like the TJ is getting a lot of use. Keep it up looking forward to some action shots.

Progress

Looks like good progress to me. My Jeep started out as the same exact Rubi as yours. BTW-not sure what the other guy was talking about. If it has the low geared transfer case and the axles it's a Rubi. I bought mine after it had been stolen so it was not an actual Rubi any more. Someone stole the axles and transfer case before I got it for dirt cheep.

Second part was doing the switch the fog lights it came with a cheap red led switch but it didn't match so I ordered a factory replacement. Then knowing that I was getting the hylines I ordered a cold air intake, went with the specter air intake so that I can later do the hummer snorkel maybe, only thing about the intake is that on the highway going about 130-140kph t the whistle is really loud
