noob zj build (slow)

What up guys. Well im a straight up noob when it comes to jeep modification or even automotive work in general. I'm only 17 and I really have no experience in any type of auto work besides changing the oil and a few other maintenance jobs. Needless to say, any help or tips you could offer would be fantastic.

-So late December 2009, I recieved my license and decided i was set on buying a jeep. I had driven my friends 5.9 magnum v8 around for a while in the snow and decided i couldnt get anything else. So practiculy drooling for a jeep I finally bought a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 I6 with no modifications and about 160,000 miles. The jeep has its share of problems and some that are undiagnosed and probably pretty threatening too . I was introduced to offroading somewhere along the lines and instantly fell in love haha . I really wanted to get into it and i have the money but just not a lot of experience. This summer i hope to install some mods with the help of some friends but im not set on what i really want yet.

So far ive got :
RC 3.5'' lift
31 x 10.50(or 32's if the fit ) BFG MT's/AT's
Flowmaster 40 series system (my current muffler is almost completely rusting off)
And thats all im pretty set on for now and im unsure about other complex mods

Here are some pics of the jeep

Cool! Im in the same boat as you, same age pretty much and everything. I have NO experience but Im pumped to learn. I want to get a flowmaster on mine as well, I kind of wish mine was rusting off so that I could have an excuse to get one... I'm back and forth on whether I want to! The grille looks really good also, I painted mine black and it completely changes the look!

thats not a big deal. now if your pinion seal was leaking then youd want to think about replacing it
