Good decision. I have an hp30 from ECGS as well and have beat on it with RCV's and an aussie and have had no problems with the gears or carrier.

good to know. if I was going to order a HP it would be with an aussie and I most likely would have went with RCV's

Don't know if this helps but i have the stock hp30 on my YJ with upgraded tj shafts and an Aussie and haven't had a single problem with it. I do only have 33's but I play hard.

thanks, reassures me.

and for holaday. how did you specify what spline your shafts are when ordering the HP? when I was checking it out there was no designation, even when ordering shafts from them it doesn't say a certain spline.

do the HP's only have one option or does that not matter. I'm still new to this axle mumbo jumbo but I thought axle shaft splines had to be matched with the locker or gears or something lol

Dana 30s are 27 spline unless you upgrade the locker and shafts to 30 splines. Hp or lp

Lol i watched balljoints get ripped out on a hp 30 on a night ride about two years ago and he was on 33's. Made for an interesting fix without a press

Yeah, did that to mine but can't really blame the axle, the ball joints were 19 years old lol

yeah i found that out after more research but on ecgs it doesnt give you the option for a 27 or 30 spline locker. or at least i cant find it.

if i go that route i will stay with 27 spline and get rcv's, then use my stock shafts to get me off the trail if i break.

but curiousity still begs me to know how to get a 30 spline locker in an order from them

If you run RCV's theres no reason to carry trail spares, other parts will go beofre the shaft does.

I wish I had spent the extra money and gotten RCVs ... hindsight is 20/20 .

...now that your jumping to 35's? Realistically your cromos should be fine, but nothing takes a beating like RCV's can in my opinion.

The 35s are part of it , the other part was unforeseen as I didnt think Superior would fold .

Superior closed?

Edit:Looks like it after some searching around. That's too bad.
