Yep, the Rubi flares help a lot! I was able to score some from two fellow JF members. Nice score!

I thought you guys had stricter laws in Cali! Your fender flares don't even have to completely cover your tires?! That's it. I'm moving somewhere where 32's are street legal on an XJ But thanks for the reply!

gunslinger, corral canyon

Well it was a fun day out at corral canyon putting the new fender flares through the ringer. The stuff out there is a little hairier than I like- call me what you will but I like my paint to stay on my jeep

Well when the radiator went wide the head gasket blew and warped the head slightly so had the machine shop resurface that. Everything south of the head looked good and the block pressure tested wnl so while the shop was planing the head I did the radiator swap/flush plus all the hoses, thermostat the water pump and all applicable gaskets. Picked up new lifters. Had the machine shop do a valve job on the cylinder head while they had it. Got the head back and buttoned her up. Did an oil change, runs like new.

So managed to knock a couple things out this week despite the huge financial setback overheating caused me. Upgraded all interior lighting to LED and had Durtracs installed. 265/75r16....nothing to write home about but they're a fry cry from the falkens. Pics and LED install write up to come

So the LEDs were simple to swap. There are a few very detailed threads about this so I'll keep mine vague. I pulled the defrost vent, it just pops off, then unscrewed the knee bolster, then the gauge shroud to get to the unit itself. Unscrewed that and unplugged the two plugs in back. Unscrewed the center console screws and then the ac/heater unit screws to access the back of that.

Nice build! It's simple but rugged just like I like to see them! I love my 4cyl too! I think they offer a lot. Nice bumper and winch! Planning on getting a winch soon. Sub'd!

So I guess the LoD rear bumper/tire carrier is built to order so that should be here any day now. The kit I ordered from dpg is back ordered so I'll be waiting a little while for that. However my Gunnebo Johnson hook finally showed up. And I have an amsteel blue masterpull winchline on the way as well. I hope everything shows up before the Overland Expo!
