New XJ Project

Bought this today, new project 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport.
Metal Gun Pearl Blue
4x4, 231 TC
AW4 transmission
Up Country Package
4.0 Inline 6
HP Dana 30 Front
Chrysler 8.25 Rear

I have big plans for it in the near future. Never owned a XJ before but I love it already.

And traded my old Jeep for it.

Thanks, I'm new to JeepFourm so I'm still getting use to all the cool threads and stuff on here.
I think I want to go with a BB lift first and keep the stock tires for now because they still have some good tread on them, I don't have much money and I think the 2inch pucks from my old Grand Cherokee will work up front and than I'll buy a 2 inch shackle for the rear.
When I do save enough money I don't want to go to big but pry a 4.5 inch with 31's I don't do any extreme 4wheeling but I do like to go on a trail that has some rocks and maybe some mud. I bought a roof rack for it today from a friend. Only a $100, I'll post pictures when I get it on. I ordered claps for it today should be here this week.

How does that rear end compare with a Ford 8.8 strengthwise?

I'm not sure, I just bought it like 4 days ago but what I've read is that the Ford 8.8 or the Ford 9 inch are much stronger. Thats just what I've heard and read.

Looks good. Are you trying to compensate for lowering your mpg with the rack by adding the K and N filter?

I put the 2" BB on her this morning.

BEFORE

AFTER

As far as the trim I painted black well it was peeling off pretty good so I put the stock blue ones on for now until I get the black looking good again.
