Get what you can find in your budget Nate, lil 4 banger will make the boy a better wheeler. Engine swap down the road spreads cost.
You ccan always find an xj to pull the engine and trans out off. Been busy with my buggy this week. Damned thing is nickel and diming me to death. Still be nice to move it under it's own power this week. Live the dream my friend, It's just getting harder, but that makes us more creative

Either way, hopefully we can continue to team up in the future, and if so, you should bring your son out to help as well. Getting him in the mix in the pits could be a great educational experience for him.

It would be an honor to have you guys help the 4550 car again! Know that the invite is always open.

Thanks Art, I think it will happen for us, just not as soon as I'd hoped.

I appreciate that Jay. If you're there next year, myself and my boy will be there too.

Also spoke to this guy… I'm really hoping this one comes through some how… he was willing to take 3500 last week but I couldn't get up there. He said some other people had similar offers. I can make the trip next Friday. If he still has it I think this is a great buy and an easy fix.

The prices vary A LOT. I've got a line on one for 4700 right now that I kind of like.

I think he'd be very happy with a 6 depending on price of course.

That one with front damage i might shy away from personally. New hood, fenders, grille, maybe radiator it'll add up fast and then you may need to paint all the parts.
