The axle looks so clean , if you left it like that here in NC it would be a big ball of rust in a week . Did you go to a CV shaft ?

It certainly looks a lot better now than it did yesterday morning. But yeah... stuff stays clean out here. There's no rust at all on this axle, not even surface.
Went to a double cardan shaft. I guess that's not a CV technically. haha.

E-brake shoes are in... not nearly as aggravating as I set myself up for. Actually pretty easy.

Well CV stands for constant velocity and a double cardan shaft with centering ball does just that it spins at a constans speed during it's entire rotation unlike a regular drive shaft with just U joints a regular shaft will speed up and slow down every rotation

You're smart for a desert boy Art. I just did some reading and now know quite a bit more than I did about different joints. I would confidently say now that a double cardan joint (Geralamo Cardano, 1545) is in fact a type of CV joint.... and I now know that achieving absolute CV is very difficult. I thought it took something like a Rzeppa joint to achieve near CV.

I think you have too many of your teeth to be rednecking AND a hillbilly. Gonna have to pick one. Hillbilly's are nice folks, rednecks are rednecks.

Just working a few side jobs to save up some money. Been real busy it seems like this summer, whether its vacation, work, or trying to maintain some type of social life, there hasn't been time for Jeep building lol. I'm planning to change that soon as it starts cooling off again.

Tank ordered!!!! Sorta, i put it on layaway. Haha. They are supposed to be in production now. So I'm glad I got my name on one since they had none in stock. By the end of the month I should be good to go. Hoping my driveshaft shows up today.
