I might actually be able to make this trip....talked to a couple buddies of mine, and one of them has a family owned metal recycling company (lots of $$ in the family). We are thinking of throwing 3 rigs on the back of one of their semis and hauling them out there.... on the company's dime

Hey Nate this might help with your stretch issue.

Supposedly you can have them mod it up to your liking. I would call to verify.

Yeah that might be what I do, but saving $400 modifying the ones I already have sounds worth the manhours at this point.

You are probably right. Some 1/8 Moabfabs, with the 7in. stretch would probably be the best solution. I could just tell them NOT to drill the mounting holes and I'll reuse the current ones as much as I can. Selling the MC armor could almost pay for those entirely.

I agree. Don't make even more work for yourself.

The stretch will take up enough of your time.

You guys are right about the corners but I honestly don't think it would be that hard to make the stretch cut, then trace out two identical new front sections, weld them on, grind it flat, use a little body filler to make it perfect...paint it and done. Technically I could just make the stretch cut and call it a day.... just have a wide wheel arch, haha. We'll see..... as I add up the "dream" list of parts, it feels less and less doable with my current budget. On a very basic level to achieve the stretch, I need the tank, SYE, driveshaft, new rear link brackets (unless I can manage to save my current ones) and misc. building supplies.... probably about 2k all said and done, the "dream list".... runs about 4k. What will actually happen probably falls somewhere in between. My major dilemma is trying to decide whether or not to completely re do my rear suspension, and it's a dilemma because I think it works fine as it is. It's actually my front suspension that needs the work, going from radius arms to 3 link. Oh well.... I'll keep researching it up, have some wheeling this summer and not worry to much about it. It's a bunch of fun as it sits.

How big of a stretch are you going for? Personally I think if you are going to do this thing go big or go home. Redo that entire rear suspension and push that axle out there.

Just cut the Jeep in half and stretch it 15" to unlimited length. No need to mess with the rear suspension, no need to run a fuel cell or stretch tank, plus gain a bunch of room.
