They are not rare. Mine had them before I added a cage. I saw that there is currently a pair of them listed on Craiglist in Plano...just FYI.

You can add in a tilting driver's side seat mount. They did not come stock that way, but there are several aftermarket products out there. I installed a tilt driver's side seat mount on my YJ shortly after I bought it, but can't recall the manufacturer. Wasn't very expensive though. It is very handy to have both sides tilt forward, not sure why Jeep didn't think of doing that from the start. Good to see your progress.

EDIT--found my file, it just says "Driver's seat riser" and the date I installed it, and price of $99. Seems that's more than I had recalled, though I didn't list the manufacturer of the product.

....I'm not smart, but I can lift heavy things.......

Fill out your PROFILE, and don't forget to look in the FAQ for writeups

My 87 came with tilt driver and passenger. I think they changed the design in newer models

So I really screwed the pooch, I never threw either of the seat mounts away, the drivers side one was bent all to hell, so the the one I bought on eBay will work. But before I new that, I bought another on eBay for the passenger side...once I noticed the drivers side was bent, I searched more in my sheds for the passenger side...I found it. Thanks to Delawarelister, an eBay seller who worked with me on a refund.

I spent 2 hours trying to sandblast the mount in my cabinet, it was a tight fit, got about 80% of it done. My neighbor works at a preform concrete shop as a heavy equipment mechanic. I got to use their sandblaster to finish the seat frame off...took seconds... I could have sandblasted an entire frame in less than 30 minutes, It was an awesome experience!!

Powdercoated..

I think you are correct..my 94' was passenger tilt only. With the Corvette column in this Jeep, I lost 2 inches of clearance, so I'll be good without a tilt on the drivers side.

Got a lot done today, center console, both the shifter trim plates and the passenger seat in...I won't mention the front carpet for the purists.. This puts me at about 95% done with the interior.

I'm waiting for the drivers side seat frame to come in today, so I can get started blasting and powder coating it. Might be a slow down as the weather is turning....40 degrees here is like 20 most everywhere else....

Any temp colder than my freezer is not a temp, my thermometer stops at 30 degree's. I will only go outside if it's 40 and sunny, or 50 and cloudy...otherwise I just look out the window....

So far I like him, he seems to be a back to basics coach, players live on campus, must make the grades..
