I think that many of us on this forum can relate to what goes on during a large build, or frame off or just about anything else related to our Jeeps. We tend to go pretty hard and maybe get a bit burned out and then it is really hard to get back in to the groove.

Not sure why that happens but usually life gets in the way(not a bad thing!). Kids and Spouses are what it is all about! We will all get our projects done, eventually!!

I look at my build and there has been no progress since February. However, I just put heat into my other shop so the work will begin again this winter.

Keep it up the good work Mav!

I agree Responder. Got a bit burned out on my build around the same time as you. I even forgot my password on here........ Just now really starting to crank it up again. My thing was i spent too much time trying to save my tub. I gave up on it and finally found a MINT tub after a couple months. By that time though i was ready for a break from the Jeep.

Rick, i'm going on 3 yrs this winter from the time i blew out the side of my 4 bangers block to now so i feel your pain as far as timelines go............at least we know though that our Jeeps were built with our own two hands and we have something to be proud of and learn from......

Hi Rick,
I've spent the evening reading your thread and have to say you have done an excelent job.
I am planning on doing theye same conversion, but in a 84 Grand Wagoneer using the drivetrain from my 94 Z28 which I totaled 13 years ago.
From the info I have been able to find, it seems that on the trucks originally equipped with the 4l60E and np241c, when shifted to 4 low a signal would be sent to the computer which would change the shift points.
Since our computers are originally intended for 2wd, how does the transmission behave once you shift the transfer case into 4low.
If there is a problem with the way the transmission opperates when shifted to 4low, have you heard of any way to solve it either through adding another sensor of some type or a reprogram of the computer?
Thanks,
Dan

Hey Mav, I know your family takes priority (good thing), so I KNOW that you MUST have your Christmas light display up and running this year! Can we see the masterpiece again??

I think you and I are in a race to see who can drag a build out the longest!

Funny Panacea....it's good to hear from you as well... I'm sure you know how life, maybe even age is getting in the way. The good news is I'm back in the grove and spent most of past 3 days working on the YJ. Got the main under dash harness moved and am cutting in connectors in place of splices under the dash.

Responder... Not to disappoint... I spent about 100 hours on the yard this year. I added a Light O Rama light show with a 16 channel controller. A buddy came by 2 nights ago with about 20 Jeeps to see the show. The below link is the Light show...when the show is over the lights come back on and 30 inflatables come up also... This is only one of seven songs..

Awesome!! Thanks for keeping the Christmas spirit alive with the light show, that is way too cool!!!

Nice to see progress on the YJ as well, along with the traditional cameo shot of the beer. I see a fence in the background, does this mean that you are working on the YJ outside these days?

In a weird and warped sense, I feel like I have an early Christmas present with this thread being active again! Going to be super busy over the next few days along with trying to stay warm here (looked at the weather this morning and it is -34*C, with the windchill, drumroll............... -45*C. Ouch. Can't wait to get to Phoenix in a few weeks to run the half marathon down there and get out of this cold.

With that being said, I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas Mavrick.

Add me to that race too. By the way, I have a considerable lead on both of you (not proud of that though).

Merry Christmas to all of yall.

When I tore this Jeep apart, I threw away the one of the seat mounts that was bent, I just assumed it was the drivers side, so I just bought a stationary drivers side off of eBay. I pulled the other seat mount out of the shed to start restoring it, I went to fit it in the passenger side and low and behold its a drivers side..... Now I have 2 drivers side, I didn't know they made a drivers side tilt up, Is this rare? I can find 15 of these on ebay, all passenger side.

Only my passenger tilts. I'd like tilting on both sides.
