Jeep is looking a little different now as I will be pulling the tub off on the weekend.

How is the dash work coming along?

Got the dash panel off, tomorrow I'll try and find my issues. This will also allow me to clean the wiring up a bit more.

I'm missing something in my fuel system. I can turn the key to run position and I can hear the fuel rails load up, and after a short while smell something like fuel, but the loading sound is constant. I'm thinking a sensor or something is missing somewhere...

Any thoughts?

1) Are you running just a supply and return or do you have a the vents/charcoal canister connected?

2) did you put new o rings on the fuel rail and bottom on injectors?

3) Is the fuel pressure regulator leaking?

This is where I would start.

The smeel is more like the inside of the engine... I have no fuel leak. When you turn the key to run, you can hear it in the engine. I'm thinking that when the key is in run, without starting, the fuel pump should load the rails up, then stop. I think that's what I'm missing..

one question I never asked ya, mav. Since you're using a Vette engine in that bastard, you planning on putting some gills on the side like the C3 edition or the Miss Mako? I think it would look killer to add black gills on that red body.

Never thought of that...Would a leaking injector necessarily be leaking fuel? ...I have no fuel leak, could the fuel be leaking into the heads, as I'm not starting it?

YES an injector will do this. Pull the fuel rail off the intake (injectors attached) and see what happens. I bet you'll see one dribble. I have 2 fuel rails (1 for a Z-28 and 1 for a Vette) complete with injectors but I am still going to send mine out to be rebuilt.

Hope it helps.

So your saying I should be able to pull the rail and hang it over a pan, then turn the key to run....and see no fuel leaking out?

My LT1 injectors had to be replaced because they were so gummed up from sitting in old fuel forever. I bought 8 brand new injectors and everything was fine after that.

While doing my testing I sat a big bucket under the injector rail and turn the ignition to on. That will let the fuel pump prime and you can see what is going on with each individual injector.

I did the same on my new project. I took all 8 injectors to a shop and had them completely rebuilt. Much cheaper than buying replacement injectors.
