I went metal to metal, just like factory, I should have used a very thin rubber membrane on the hood hinges as I most likely will be running 2 hoods...stay tuned

Thanks, and this is a beautiful build.

I used a shock tower engine cradle, no welding involved. If your building a stock chevy small block, you will be fine. For the LT1, it pushed the engine to far forward...gave me a ton of fits with the radiator placement.

What brand, if I may ask? I'm a lot like you, I have a YJ, and I can't weld (yet)

Had issues getting this beast to start, no fuel to the rail. Chased the problem back to the tank, had to drop it most of the way down. The connector was unplugged at the fuel pump....don't know how it happened but it cost me almost a day

Got most of the dash wiring done...

It's not just the LT1 Rick, my L98 is 1 to 2 inches further forward than I would have liked and I even used the spacers to get it back further. From memory, I think I have about 3 3/4" between the radiator and w/p pulley. Glad to see your at the point of getting it fired up!

I was thinking about going with the cradle an decided against it after realizing that my sm465 is so short that the shifter would pretty much be tight against the firewall. The weld in mounts are the way to go if you can weld or have a friend who welds. They offer much more versatility but you have to measure very carefully and triple check yourself
