I was not missing the secondary fuse block, I found it in one of my parts boxes. As it turns out I don't need it anyway, it doesn't power anything I need. After connecting everything up, I have voltage everywhere i need it....even got the main cluster to light up, but I could not get the engine to crank.

This engine has the VATS system, the Vehicle Anti-Theft System. This means I need to find the correct resistor value from the key to get it to crank.. and there are 15 different values........thats for next week.

I needed to get the inner fender wells on the tube fenders, to give me somewhere to mock up and mount stuff like the PCM and engine fuse block.

Here is the passenger side, I'll disassemble tomorrow, strip and prime it. Note the scuff marks on top and in front of the fender, thats how it was shipped...

Felt strange cutting a new fender up... I'll finish this one tomorrow as well.

I almost said you forgot your beer in the last picture. They I gave it a second glance and I found it! Your build exceeds my mechanical knowledge by far.

Rick - don't you need to have the PCM flashed to remove VATS and emissions? Thought I read that somewhere - maybe Hector? Good luck. Please post short video of the fire up when you get there.

I had the VATS and emissions removed from the PCM already, and believe me, my short video on fire up will have me and my little girl dancing the jig as well

Spent the day removing the undercoating on the passenger side fender well...what a pain in the rear end..

Both fender wells mounted, note the dent on the passenger side fender....dropped it on my backyard side walk, nose first from 5 feet up....

Not sure I have enough room for the stuff I need to mount on the fender wells...

The beer is in the pic, who can find it??

I will have some time this weekend to work on the build, but still unsure about where I'm at with the vette VATS system....

I know the following..

VATS was disabled out of the PCM, so I don't need a bypass because the fuel will flow to the injectors.

Do need to find the correct resistance on the key, or bypass this part of the VATS system all together ?

The Issue I think stems from my wanting to use the factory 96' vette gauges, but I have been unable to verify this..

Anyone have any insight??

I spent the day identifying and labeling the dash harness, even though most won't get used....it's good to know what you have. I found 3 connectors on the passenger side that penetrated the firewall on the vette. You can see them on the right side of pic, I just connected them over the tub for now.

I discovered the dash harness is from a 6-speed vette, not an auto, that's going to leave me a little extra wiring to do.

Progress is being had, but I'm gonna have to post when my 6 yr old baby girl's not around, she insists on reviewing the posts...as evident below.....

Tomorrow I finish all the harness identification
