Hopefully I'll get my grill back soon, work is extremely busy, once It slows down I'm taking a week off to get something done here...

Finally, my drought in building this Jeep is over, unlike the current drought in South Texas... I took the entire week off to get something done.

Got the tabs welded on the grill completed.

After I cut the mounts in on the new radiator..

With the fan mounted. This fan fit the old radiator, I don't think I would find one anyway so I cut holes into the fan shroud to accommodate the lower radiator connections.

Front view..

Almost 4" of clearance !! , tomorrow I'll try and finish the hoses and tranny cooling connections.

Picture is poor, but got the radiator hoses fabbed from 4 different hoses. I need to still get the splicers.

After setting the grill back on last night, I realized the fan shroud was hitting the steering box, with my lack of patience, I trimmed it off. I also extended the tranny lines out from behind the shroud. All I have left are a few minor details, and the cooling system is done.

Spent the second half of the day stripping and cleaning off two harnesses, figured now that the major dirt and coverings are off, I can finish cleaning them inside the house where it's not 100 degrees.... It did inspire dinner thou... Spaghetti it is !!

Also whats the advantage of the boomerang shackles and what would new shackles do for my jeep? does it lift the jeep or something? im very new to the jeep community and im trying to soak up as much info as possible im lost when it comes to suspension lifts and that work involved. im an extreme ADD and im afraid that i'll get into a project and not be able to finish it when i get to something i cant figure out and im the gear head in the family and this is my DD and i don't wanna be without transportation for much more than 1 day.

Glad to see you got your radiator issue taken care of! Can't wait to see how that harness comes out.

I didn't paint them, I powder coated them (on the original American Racing rims) as it turned out my oven was not heating up enough and the coating didn't stick as well as I thought. I ended up buying aftermarket reproductions of 2003 TJ rims in a chrome black, I love them. I think if you paint them, it would work fine, but you would be repainting them fairly often. Powder coating would be the way to go...

As for the boomerang shackles, there is much debate on there benefits. I'm anal, and mine were pitted with rust. You can search the forum and get varying opinions.

Indeed.... It was my newly turned 6 year old daughter's idea.. I think she is more devious than I am.....

She has recently learned how to read, and is into the build thread. She insists on finding the beer before I post, and giving me suggestions on how and where to hide it.

Another poor picture, but I got the engine harness temped in today, had to "restore" the oil temp. sensor with some epoxy, and I temporarily hung the computer off the firewall. My goal is to get the engine to turn over, if I can do that, getting it to run will be easy...

I was going to add the fender wells to the tube fenders today, but they came with no template... I did get the corvette dash harness connected to the steering column temporarily, I also identified all the other corvette dash component connectors I'll be using. I might get rich from all the scrap copper I'll be pulling from this harness..... Once I ID where power connects, I'm going to try and bump this motor over.

I was hoping to bump the motor over this weekend but couldn't figure out where the 3 positive battery connections go on a 96' vette engine harness. I took a trip after calling a used car place 45 miles away asking if I could peek at connections on one they were selling.

Turns out I'm missing a secondary fuse block, hopefully my buds on the vette forum can ID it for me.

Happy Independance Day all!!
