Thanks man, I just did the skid as a test before the frame. I'm sandblasting as well. I know what you mean about the metal ready film. Something just didn't feel right about rinsing bare metal with water. I tried to dry it asap. Did you spray the Eastwood top coat?Did you do the same to your springs, axle, steering components, and skids? Sorry about all the questions but I really like the way your jeep is turning out and I'll be sandblasting my frame today or tomorrow hopefully. Speaking of sandblasting, did you blast the above mentioned parts?

My guns must be bad too....

I guesstimate with media, por-15, primer and topcoat about 2 bills, I stiil have a 3rd of the primer left and a little of the topcoat. Time was about 30 hours.

I sprayed the primer and topcoat. I blasted everthing but the steering stuff, it was easier to sand. I did blast the springs with baking soda thou, was worried about getting the media betwen the leafs and never getting it out. I sprayed all with the epoxy primer, but used an enamel Rustoleum satin black on them.

Blasting is a dirty job for sure, those people need beer bought for them, as evidence of my dirty, tired mug below.....

BTW, I'm much hotter now.... I'm cleaner and 30lbs. lighter...but the darkness in the stubble is all dirt......

Messed with the tub a little, seeing how the armor will fit with the TJ flare. Also stripped a little of the paint off my "worried side" A little more bondo than I hoped for... Not sure yet what scheme or color to go with.. Not even sure what flares to go with.. I like the Metalclock stuff, but for the price, I might get my buddy to fab....

VSS installed.......

I'm cutting the skidplate, engine angle will be at 5%, Going to fab a skidplate over the cut out portion under the transfer case.

The T-case is actually about 1/2 above the pan, but was hitting the back lip of the skid plate. I'll box the hole in about 2 inches below the pan.

Yeah, I saw where you said that - but I was mentally comparing it to my swap where we only had to cut the back lip off and none of the plate itself...

What motor mounts did you go with? I'm sure its in the thread, but this way I don't have to go back and search. Just wondering if the motor itself sits lower than mine did. Because I was a little leary of how close the balancer sat in relation to the front pumpkin. Then there's the exhaust too. It's close up there.

You can't tell from this pic, but it's close.

I went with the advanced adapter cradle. It might sit an inch higher than I liked, but the overall drive train length kinda dictated it. It looks like on on your skid plate, it's cut in the middle front, you must be running a different t-case as my was hitting the driver side rear.

Overall, I think this will work for clearance and drive-ability due to drive-shaft angle, with the the 4" lift. I also added back the 1 1/2 skid plate drop.

Oh, I think higher is probably better in the case of a Jeep (mud, water, etc, if that makes sense).

I'm running the NP241J - was just thinking that yours was clocked similarly to mine. Just goes to show everybody's swap is different no matter the similar parts!!

Keep the pics coming, I'm enjoying this awesome build!!!
