My x-mas present from my wife

Somebody pinch me....

Posted about it briefly in the "how much is to much thread" but wanted to formally introduce my new toy. Picked it up Saturday in Fresno, Ca. About a 250 mi. drive from my home in Chino but totally worth it. Transferred the 7/70warranty today. I'm the second owner. 33,xxx miles and an auto trans, and a dana44 axle.

What a cool wife.

Lots of questions for you LJ guys, I'll start with this one - You guys running 33" tires and 3.73 gears, hows it workin' for you? I have 4.56's in my 97 w/33's and it's sweet but I hear the auto/OD in the LJ is way overdriven, thoughts?

Found a LJ hardtop locally for $1450, does that seem reasonable?

I also found MOAB's off a 06 rubi w/9000 mi on them for $625. Thinking about that also.

Way to many things running through my head right now.....

I am running my Jeep using my GPS as a speedometer. When I had the stock 30" tires, I found that I could never get a speeding ticket because when my speedo showed 100km/h, I was actually travelling closer to 92km/hr (GPS tracked). Now with 32" tires, my speedo shows 95km/hr and my GPS shows 100km/hr.

I find my power feels "right" - not underpowered and shifting seems to be more natural instead of "jumpy" in first-gear (6-speed standard). The difference between 32 and 33" tires isn't that much, so, I would think that you would find it just as nice.

My Jeep is modified for towing duties more than off-roading - and - towing a fairly heavy trailer I find the 3.73 gears a little short on power - street and light trails it is fine. I think that I might change to 4.10 gears just for the towing ability - but - that isn't high-priority yet.

I have been searching for regular hardtop and I've come across some LJ tops in the 1000 range. I think they must be harder to sell just because there are less LJ's. Then again, they're harder to find too...
