Also check the the grounds for the relay and pump for corrosion etc. 6-7vdc might be enough to make the pump work but an intermittent ground will kill it.

ok so i guess its a bad ground i had my son crank the jeep while i was testing the wires and boom started right up, pulled the leads from the meter and it died, tried it again and started pulled the lead and it stayed running ?????? so i think ill just run a new ground wire to the pump tomorrow

thanks for the suggestion's Ken

No problem. Glad you made some headway with it. I always hate troubleshooting intermittent wiring.

Glad you got it figured out buddy! It's a bad ground 90% of the time

I'm planning to rewire the entire Jeep using my own relay/harness setup once Howell TBi goes in. Jeep's looking good, you're definitely having fun with it!!

I once had a ground burn up inside the tank on the sending unit(94 blazer), scary stuff! the part where it bolted to frame had no real ground from rust and it fried the wire.
Glad you figured it out.

So after tracing the ground wires i found no breaks in the line anywhere, SO Now im thinking WTF i got a good ground all the way back to the pump plug

Well here is the problem and what i did to fix it

the ground wire is spot welded to the top of the assembly DUMB FU^&ING Idea

So i cut the wire and extended it and then drilled a small hole through the top and ran it to the pump like so

Hope this can help some out if they are having similar issues

I too am curious where you got them.
I've been looking at a few H4 conversions since they're in my price range...

Cheers
