My New Silver RME

So I've been searching for a silver 2005 RME for quite some time now, and I finally picked one up a couple of weeks ago. I really like the RME in general, I think it's a great package for a first time Jeep, and the 05 because it has the color matched fenders. I was able to get a really good deal on this one because the stealership was loosing their Jeep franchise, so it was being liquidated and they didn't even have it priced as the RME. All and all I truly believe that I got a great deal on it. I've been reading on the forum for a couple of weeks, trying to get ideas before I started posting noob questions/comments. I like to be up on topics first!

Here's a couple of pictures I took right after I bought it.

I have since, taken off the "milk jugs", and gone to 4WheelParts and ordered my husky liner mats and a lockable fuel door. I just ordered black head light bezzels and hope to see those guys next week. I've also just picked up a Viper alarm with prox sensors and the whole 9, just for peace of mind... I know locks and alarms just keep honest people honest, but I have OCD

I'm not really a heavy mod'r, I really just want to have this cruise around in and to keep me from getting a few less speeding tickets. I'm sure I'll end up making it my own before it's all said and done though.

Thanks Zach! I really need to get the clear side marker lenses, they look so much better on the silver Jeeps. I'm just not sure if they're legal in Texas.

Well the driver side didn't have them on, and I've taken off the passenger side now to even it up a little. I'm hoping to find some charcoal Jeep stickers, more of an accent and not just stand out in black.... I'm still searching though.

I have a link somewhere to where you can get them. They are flat black though. And Clear side markers are legal as long as you have an amber light inside of them. Besides. Everything is legal in texas haha jk

Maybe this might help.

TeamFATBOY, That's awsome, thanks!!

ravens9322, the drivers side front quater was keyed by the PO's ex-girlfriend was what I was told. I thought something was funny with no sticker on that one side, and that's what they said. No visible signs of it being repainted though.

Alright so I got my Silver Jeep stickers that I had already ordered before Fatboy showed me the other colored Jeep stickers. I really do like the silver on silver... I'll post pictures here shortly...

I also go in my black headlight bezels, and they didn't provide the screws. This pisses me off, I got screws with my black fuel door that I put on, but they were silver. So this is one more thing that I have to paint the screws for before I can put them on. Is this a standard thing with Jeep products? They provide non-color matching screws, if you get any at all? WTF?

My clear sider marker lenses should be coming in today also, so I get those on too then I'll take a couple pictures.

OK! Got my black headlight bezels installed, and my clear lenses came in right after I got done... here's a few pictures. You can also see my new silver on silver Jeep stickers...

One thing that I'm not wild about is that you can see the amber bulbs through the clear lenses. One thing I did on my other car that I loved, was I found these bulbs that were in the UK that were amber on the inside but they had like a frosty finish on top so you couldnt see the amber unless they were on. I'll have to look for that thread in the other forum, but I don't know if I'll be able to find that size or not. Anyone else found some of these? Of course they are not DOT approved, but you can't tell the difference at all when they are on, they just don't look like a big orange buble inside of your housing.

Chris

Haven't updated in a while, but I figured I'd put these up just to show a little progress.

Got my Tuffy Glovebox put in, replaced the old entry guards because they hung past the doors when shut.

Put on some ORO LiteDots and PlateLite.

And yesterday put on my JKS 1.25" BL and 1" MML.

Ordered my CR 2.5" lift, should have it on by the end of the year for sure. Should have some pics up once those go on!

Great looking jeep, love the silver..

i thought you replaced the sticker on the driver side..? why in one picture is the JEEP emblem there and the other not..

also ive seen a write up on giving the amber bulbs a light spray over with silver rattle can so that you dont see it through the clear lenses yet it still lights up amber when it on..
ill look for the link..
