I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd. 5.9 liter V8. ECU has been remapped, factory airbox torn out and hi flow throttle bodies are now covered with Turbo City Dual Filter Injector to which I hooked up two blue cone filters with heat shields and I also put 2 Lund Hood Scoops which suck air right into the filters. Windshield visor (with lights), Rhino Bars, rear bumper guard, window flares, nerf bar step ups, rear spoiler, mesh grille, Tints all around, Sylvania Silverstars (since installed) and the standard 10 pc Infinity Gold stereo system. All body upgrades have been custom painted to match Stone White (PW1) color of the Jeep.

this is the engine

How do you like the Lund scoops? I've been running through that idea for quite awhile.

I love the Lund scoops. It is functional and I actually notice a gas mileage improvement since they run right into each cone filter you see in my engine setup. Another thing is that it gives a more distinct and slightly aggressive look to it. It is a statement for sure.

Bucket,
I cut out the front end of them and put a mesh wiring there. Then I cut out 2 holes on each side of my hood right over the blue cone filters that you see in the pics. So I have heat shields under the cones and fresh air coming from the outside via "RAM AIR". On the 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Hood on the underside there is a triangle pattern in the hood support bracket (located directly over each intake filter), I cut the hole out right in there so as not to compromise the structural integerity of the hood. You can, however, get a bracket that prevents hood warp if that isnt the case for you. And remember, engines run on 14 part air and 1 part fuel. The more air you get into the engine the more power and efficiency you get (depending on how you use the engine) within the limits set by the engine of course.
