Bucket, I cut out the front end of them and put a mesh wiring there. Then I cut out 2 holes on each side of my hood right over the blue cone filters that you see in the pics. So I have heat shields under the cones and fresh air coming from the outside via "RAM AIR". On the 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Hood on the underside there is a triangle pattern in the hood support bracket (located directly over each intake filter), I cut the hole out right in there so as not to compromise the structural integerity of the hood. You can, however, get a bracket that prevents hood warp if that isnt the case for you. And remember, engines run on 14 part air and 1 part fuel. The more air you get into the engine the more power and efficiency you get (depending on how you use the engine) within the limits set by the engine of course. Mad Mike |
