built for rocks

The wife has been calling my projects from desert race trucks to the jeeps my mistress, I sneak off spend allot of time on them, sometimes fib on what I'm doing and spend a bit too much time on em.
But I have learned to keep it cheap, buddy runs a metal yard so my materials are either out of the scrap pile behind shear or at scrap prices. I've sent him a lot of business so its a good working relationship.... lol

Anywase I'll let the pictures talk instead of typing a whole bunch, easier that way.

2010 Rubicon fully loaded (got a screaming deal on it or I'd have bought another "X")
Its main purpose is rocks, this is my 3rd JK in a little over a year first was mainly built that I finished off the last 2 were basically stock and I built. This one I have built bumpers, rack, fenders, armor, light mounts, and on, on, on...basically built it from ground up.

What it looked like when it was bought

Made a rear bumper

Made some dual mount ridgkd mounts

Made a front bumper and did a CJ grill chop

Made some side armor

Did front and rear truss,

Made a 20lb Co2 set up

Rear tire carrier

Made a rear rack and aluminum rear wall

Did rear dust lights

Um, wow! I like it!

Know what you mean about spending too much time out in the garage, but we could be chasing the real "mistress" instead!

Lol thanks..
I dig LJ 's I saw your signature....if your not going to stretch a 2dr that's the one or if you need the room I side with the wheelbase its perfect right from the showroom floor....

Love the Cherokee chief I had a 78 did spring over put it on 35s, made a breather tube for carb so it would quick drowning itself at extreme angles and wheeled it....great vehicles....nostalgia and FUN......
It was tan with the racoon stripe.

Awesome and I love the LJ platform. My old chief is what sold me on longer wheelbases and larger interior rooms. The old school looks of the chief are awesome. Just let me know when you want to make me a prerunner style tire carrier and mail it to me.

Put a little time in on the plates for the rear. It will be paneled all around when done.

Some more parts of the build.

Then of course there's down time...lol destroyed drive shaft, axle, 2 destroyed shocks, drag link...from lower 13 ran it in day and a night run the night before...was worth the carnage.

Took this winch from this

My max axe has some accessories that go with it to assist...what a good design....love this axe.

Reinforced lower rear arms and built em to take a hit. Till I build my new links.
