LOL no offense but what numbers are you putting in there? the way you have it your links are in the ground and if you were to have half an inch of travel your axle would steer like a mad man!

for the upper links I put
x- from axle tube center to the center of the frame mount/ then the middle of the control arm mount on the axle to the center of the tube
y- half the distance of the space between the upper control arm mounts/ same at the axle
z- then the height of the brackets
am I completely off on where to measure?

Ok maybe Mr blain or Mcannon can answer this. I still want to stretch the back of my Jeep 5 inches. I know everyone loves there 4 links. I want to know if i could make longer control arms. It would be much easier to make 5 in longer arms and relocate the upper track bar mount 5in back. I love how my rig handles now and it seems like that would keep it close to how it is currently.

Its been a while!

The motor swap is getting close to finishing up!

The long list of stuff left is
Lower radiator hose
Install fan
Put on the wiring harness
To make a mount for the trans shifter cable
New skid (mine is too bent to put back on)
Make a trans mount
Have a line made for ac
Have trans lines made
Heater hose line
Reducer for upper hose
drive shaft lengths need to be changed
and lots of beer

Anyone know of any Chromos to stay away from? I want to get some for my dana 30 to tie me over until I can get a pro rock 44

Why not just pick up an HP44 from a junkyard? Dynatracs really expensive.

My harness just arrived! After class ill see if she starts! Unleashed 4x4 in Hollywood made a nice flat skid for me. I also got a light bar for my birthday! That also was possible thanks to Unleashed 4x4. This last weekend I Picked up a 77 F-150 front axle 1/2 in thick wall HP and the tubes are 2.75'
I also might be getting a front dana 44 ARB locker and ford 8.8 ARB locker this week under $600 shipped for both!

The swap is a good idea but don't make my mistakes or it will be expensive...
I'm in California and a perfectionist so this may not apply to everyone
I watched the donor truck drive the engine was smooth, it sounded good, the oil was dark not milky, no engine codes, cat sounded fine..
$1000 for engine with 100k, rebuilt trans low miles, engine harness, cat, all emissions stuff cables ect.
Ok so heads were toast and I pulled nine heads and bought 2 used that didn't look cracked until they got sent out..
So I have one repaired head and one new/ machining the block and one head $500
Complete overhaul kit including cam all replacement but the best stuff $1000
Motor mounts $125
so ok I have a new motor.. But im telling you now your motor is f**ked if its used, I opened so many its not even funny.
I had the guy that does the magnum harnesses here on the forums (cavscout187) build my harness.
After keeping it 4 months longer than he said, I got back my harness incomplete and royally screwed up
He is a scam DO NOT LET HIM TOUCH YOUR STUFF -$400
So I had a real shop make it work but they said its too far gone to fixed, it needs to be re-done. $525
So it runs but has a few strange problems.
I am talking to backwoods and he is going to re-do the harness.
OH and the guy here did such a crappy job it blew my computer!
That cost me another $125
I still have another $800 minimum left in electrical to make it perfect.
I am now back in school (it was a summer project) and I do not have time to do the electrical myself)
The cat worked for a week before collapsing on itself. I had a full custom exhaust made the cat, and back for $500, with a magnaflow. The guy did a fantastic job! It is tucked up out of the way of rocks. Muffler man in Placentia Ca. I have gone there for years.
I thought I would share my experience with you.
I had a blast doing this and learned so much!
Just plan on building your motor yourself.
