Luciano, put them (and myself) on the scale this afternoon.
  • Stock Fender - 20 lbs*
  • TNT Fender - 25.8 lbs

*Stock fender still had the flare, and turn signal assemblies installed.

Honestly, for a 6 pound difference per side, it's really negligible. They look so much better, and (here's a joke) I might even get better gas mileage! The aerodynamics might give me just a litttttllleee bit more per gallon. Who knows

Don't you jinx me man! But yeah, at this point I agree. It's crazy because unlike almost any other color, Chili Pepper Red changes so drastically depending on the sunlight. If it's cloudy it almost passes for a reddish brown, while in bright sunlight it looks like a real red. Who knows though, tomorrow we'll find out

I'm planning on doing a thorough job at detailing the Jeep before the fenders go on just to get it close to clean so maybe they'll match a little better right off the bat.

Well here goes nothing.

*DISCLAIMER* The paint match isn't perfect. It's cloudy out, so it's not any direct sunlight, but the fenders are a deeper red than the Jeep. This is an unfortunate fact, but hell I did it with rattle cans and guesstimates that nobody could predict. I figure it'll all even out eventually since aerosols are nowhere near as defensive against UV rays and the elements that true sprayed urethane clear coats are. Whatever. It's done with! Blinkers are wired in too, I'll post a video of that later.

Rocker panels will also be on soon, I just need to take care of some stuff first before I finish that, so this isn't the completed Jeep.

Walked into a fella's barn looking for an HPD30 a few months back. I glanced up, ignoring everything else in the barn and stared directly at the flatfenderd awesomeness of a lifted CJ3B trail rig. The guy steps up beside me as I stood mouth agape. He said something like "That was my Dad's trail Jeep. He built it himself...and he'd be very pleased if he could have just watched you walk in here and look past the two hot rods, the 79 Bronco, and the restored Model A in favor of that old Jeep. That's how I know you're a Jeep guy".

Love those flat fenders, Ryan. Think of me as the creepy guy with narrowed eyes in the "SOON" memes. I WILL have flatties over my fatties.

The color matching looks nice . Even if its a shade off the only one who will notice it is you . And best of all yours doesnt look like all the other flat black tube fendered jeeps out there . It might just be me , but the front bumper looks like it grew wider once you went to the tube fenders . I know it didn't but its a heck of an optical delusion .

Wow! 93 pages have been fun to read. I think i started reading this last week and just finished. Your jeeps great. I loved watching your jeep grow up. I have to commend you on your patients. I being impatient just make the decision on whatever product to buy. You on the other hand do it the right way and look through every option. Im jealous, but its not your only vehicle. I was laughing when you couldnt get you upper control arms in, I faced that on my old stocker many hours of yelling screaming cursing and outright hating jeeps. It helps if you drop one side of the axle all the way down and jack the other up (can be a little dangerous) to find the perfect point for the upper control arm, or simply do it the simple way with a ratchet strap . Another suggestion is to not go with big rims unless you have the money. On my current jeep i have 18's and they look nice but tires arent cheap for 18's (Im Missing the money part). Just my 2 cents. I found it funny how your jeep kept having malfunctions, i feel your pain, but its all worth it when your out on the trails. I actually just went yesterday and bought those same back up lights as you. The PO on my jeep put in LED tail lights that are flush mounts, there nice but dont have Backup lights which makes it hard at night. Ill stop ranting now...

Im in central CT so if your ever out this way for some random reason. we can hit up a few places.

Overall great build. i'll shut up now.

If it aint broke, fix it till it is.
