And by the way, here's the stock box vs. the PSC box. I guess they're closer in size than I thought.

WOW! Nice job guys! Would you say they weigh about the same? And if I were you, just for fun I'd pull apart the old box to see what the internals look like. You'd probably be able to turn everything in there way too easily.

Diggin the steering box. I had one day of 'awkward turns' a few days ago thought my box was done for. Good to know the psc box is worth the money. I may be ordering one soon.

Went up to New Hampshire today and scouted the trails for our next club run. 15 miles on trails, and I really had a blast (by myself, seeing as none of you could blow off life/work/school/whatever to come!) but I drove around for 5 or so hours through the woods mapping everything out and getting an idea for what sections would be good for what groups of people. Some areas are great tame Class 6 roads that will be good for all, and there are others that have a decent amount of rocks and that will require skid plated and lifted Jeeps to make it through. I cringed more than once waiting for a rock to bash against the axle tube, steering system, exhaust, or whatever, but it never did. Guess the Jeep has more clearance than I give it credit for. I took a bunch of photos, so here are a few teasers. Also some GoProHD video which I'll edit and put up at some point tonight!

Beyond the technical stuff though, there were some really amazing New England aspects to todays run. As you'll see in the pictures I found myself atop an old (stone) bridge over a river. Also by a big open lake, and alongside a covered bridge. Sounds stupid, but I really felt connected to the area of the country we live in. When given the opportunity, 6+ miles into the woods you really can re-discover the region and it's hidden gems.

Big compliments to the Jeep for getting me there and back without a hitch. I know it's not always the smartest to wheel alone, especially in the middle of nowhere, but even after a decent amount of vertical rock gardens she and I made it out without an issue. And btw- the steering box can turn the whole TJ when it's up against a rock/boulder/anything. One effortless wheel turn and the whole front end shifts to whichever direction you point it.

Excellent! I really would love to join you guys for this run. I found out this morning that I absolutely need a front locker if I am going to climb anything. I couldn't even get up a small rock without kicking out the rear end. Front spartan should be in within the next few weeks.

Can not even begin to convey my jealousy when I saw those pictures while stuck in the office.
