Also disregard the two rectangles when looking up from underneath...not sure why they showed up. There will only be the 4 large access holes when looking up from there.

Think there'd be enough strength in there? You're looking at 1/4" plate to make that brace across the lifted segment.

You're a prince! I've got my work cut out for me between the lift and the three snapped engine mount studs in my block. Hoping to start on that today after work. Getting wet on my motorcycle until then, haa!

That flat skid idea is coming along nicely. The material is from the same link you sent my way, right? I may have to steal that idea but I had planned to keep my BL and just run with a UCF lopro mount and a 1" MML so I may be able to just go 100% flat. Recessed hardware would be REAL nice though...I hear rocks work well as grinders.

Few pics from wheeling this weekend. The run was organized to be "stock friendly" and of the 15 people that went, a dozen were first timers. As such, I spent a lot of time riding shotgun in a buddy's jeep while leading the trail. My friend Eric drove most of the day in my TJ (yes, take this moment to reflect on how few people you'd trust driving your rig while wheeling)..... He's actually letting me start talking him into a TJ, but he insists it'd have to be an LJ.

Anyway. Good time was had by all. Watching the driver of a stock TJ go through the trail grinning from ear to ear was awesome.

Somewhat basic trail, just to get the new guys out and smiling. PayPal received... bought a new OBDII scanner with it! I also left you the iTrader review, if you wouldn't mind doing the same. Thanks again Joe

Haven't had time or interest in updating this. Jeep is a pain in the ***, and she and I are not really on speaking terms.

I took it to get inspected at the same place as usual and he rejected it. Told me it was too lifted (same height as last year... so the TNTs perceived lift screwed me), tires were too big (oops), too loud (no muffler... my bad), my ball joints are shot (only a year old...), and the e-brake didn't work (no ****! 8.8 cable swap sucks). SO she's been sitting in the driveway while I drive the Audi to work every day. Not ideal, but it's just really frustrating. I don't want to spend money on it anymore, at least for a while. The ball joints will probably be replaced with the Spicer set, since I've heard good things and there's a guy on eBay that sells a set (4 total) for $110. Also looked into XrS or something ball joints, but they're just under $200 for the set.

Also, the rear frame upper control arm mounts need to be cut off and have new ones put on. When the track bar broke the rubber bushing in the RC arms ripped the welds from the frame on the mounts and destroyed them. Cost for the brackets alone is $140, and I'm not doing the welding myself as I don't have the trust in my welding abilities to do suspension stuff. Not when my life depends on it. So that will probably have to go to one of the local 4WD shops to be done.

Oh, and I did the annual oil change.

BTW my plan of action to pass inspection:

- New ball joints
- Fix the e-brake cable
- Install muffler (maybe even permanently)
- Borrow 27-28" stock tires/wheels (from a friend)

Try again... the tire borrow should drop the Jeep 4-5" in total height, and they'll be MUCH smaller. It'll look goofy as hell but it should work.

I'd be more than happy to help with ball joints. It takes me a whopping hour to do one side now (I timed myself when I did Danielle's ball joints). I'm free in the mornings, and on Saturdays.
