I realy appreciate the complements. I think tattooweenys top looks outstanding and would love to have one, but I had heart failure when I saw how much he paid for it. the new MB grill will most likely wait till winter 09/10 as I have yet to find one I can afford. I am working on some auxliary light guards, high lift jack mount. maybe some pioneer tool mounts this winter.

In my last post I said "when it rains, I get wet" I can now ad "When it snows I get wet" I drove it to work yesterday and it snowed about 3:30P. #$%&@* weather forcast!!!!

I think I would paint the chrome on the grille the sand color you used in the camo paint scheme. Would look good against the black and a whole lot better than chrome.

thanks!!!! I could not agree with you more! my master plan involves grafting a 9 slot willys mb grill into the wrangler opening. I did not have the time or more importantly the money to buy a repo mb grill. I did this make over on the cheap, and due to finding a sreaming deal on milspec paint, I was able to come in well under budget. Also, at my age I have learned not to do things twice, I figured why paint it now if I am going to tear it apart this winter or next.
I will be trying to pull the chrome inserts out soon, I actualy have someone who wants to buy them, so I am hoping they come out in one piece.

go to www.g503.com that is a mb/gpw site. there should be someone there w/ a grill. i got one for 5 bucks and it's now hanging on my basement wall along w/ the rest of my jeep nerd stuff.

thanks for the complements, I am working on adding a towbar right now, and I am getting a blackout light for the fender off ebay. I will be parking it in the barn up north for the winter soon so I wont be doing much to it till spring.

Hi all, I picked up a heavy-duty tow bar off craigslist for cheap. I had to reconfigure it a bit and I cut up one of the mounting brackets it came with to make a positive stop for it in the up position. While I hope I don’t have any mechanical problems with this jeep, I had one on my scrambler and on my CJ2A and I used them both.

you should lose the chrome - what? someone already said that...oh ok.

i know you said what kind, but is that rattle can paint or no?

either way, coolest paint job I've seen. period.

not to hijack, but here is a similar flat fender idea. no welding required. I paid 100 bucks to save me a week of work and they removed and plasma'd the fenders, although it might be possible to just use even a dremel
