Just got all caught-up again on your Jeep - looks like lots of bad-luck has come your way lately. Sorry to hear it all.
Here is to hoping that the bad-luck is finally over and only good things come your way!

Yeah thanks, I hope it is all over too.
What sucks is I am so cash strapped right now and can’t really even start looking for a $100 used D35 to fix it with. I also need a new brake line and some used tires.
It could have been a lot worse though.
I will never go wheeling again without a proper survival kit in the jeep.
They say God never gives you more than you can handle. Well right now I wish he had a whole lot lower opinion of me.

hi fflint, nice to hear from you. Man, you've had some crappy luck. I hope it gets better for you. As i was saying on facebook, i started on a new project. It'a not a jeep, but another cool project ive wanted to do, a dune buggy. I found a '62 vw pan that's already shortened for a dune buggy body. The great thing is that it has a clean title, and is still in the dmv system.
I've already switched it over to my name; whats funny is that my pan is street legal, and yet there's nothing but an empty pan! lol

yeah, California smog is a joke. They make it so hard for guys like us who like to modify vehicles. Fortunately, this Dune buggy is smog exempt, even though it's classified as a 0000 (year) "Special Construction" vehicle. CA goes by the chassis vin # or the engine # regarding smog related stuff, in this case it's the 1962 pan. The reason why I'm so happy about this purchase is because it was up to date in the system, meaning no BAR or CHP inspection crap to worry about. I just had to transfer the title into my name. Plus i found a Manx style body AND a complete link-pin front end Im picking up tomorrow for a $100, so it's all coming together smoothly (so far). The hardest thing to find will be a cheap VW with a Ford 2.0 or 2.3 conversion already installed. I can't afford to do it piece by piece, I have to find someone who's down on their luck, so to speak, to get a deal on it.

Good luck on all that stuff.
I just put up a wanted ad for an axle in great lakes 4x4. Hopefully one will pop up within a month. One day this week the shop was 58 degrees, I was out there in shorts and a long sleeve thermal shirt! It was great, but yesterday morning another inch on the ground and high 20's.

I don't believe that they are the same, but, to be sure, you might wanna ask in the Axle-Tech section.

No unfortunatly, not even opened up yet. I had a hard time just getting it off the trailer.
My ailments have gotten worse and I now suffer from COPD and pretty much have to have help doing anything heavy.
I am actually having a hard time keeping up with needed car repairs.
