the bumper was one of the first things I did...In hind sight it sticks out too far and kills my approach angle, kinda works like a plow. time to hack it off with the plasma and start fresh, in fact just about every thing on my jeep is so so. Its all tough and built strong, just not up to par anymore. After fabbing stuff for two years Ive gotten better and think its time to redo some stuff a little at a time.

Incredible paint job!!

Wow what a great job you did on your jeep! I too have a wrangler and thought about doing this as a paint job, so I googled digital camo jeep and your stuff pulled up. I was wondering a few things if you could tell me, if not on here then my email. Incase any are secrets, haha. Was wondering what kind of paint did you use? How did you do the designs? Dis you tape off sections or create a stencil where you sprayed paterns? And was it expensive? I'm ready to do this sort of thing to my jeep but I'm wanting to be sure I don't mess stuff up. Thanks, once again an awesome looking wrangler!! Can't wait til I do mine. It's a 98 wrangler, when I got it hardly anyone in my city of 100k plus didn't have a wrangler, now I see them everywhere. It's time I get noticed again and stick out in traffic. Any advice would be great!

Thanks, I worked very hard on it last year. quite honestly there was ALOT more work in the body mods than the paint.
I just painted the trailer the base deasert tan color, unfortunatly I used a different solvent with the other colors, and when I started painting the digital on the trailer, it reacted with the underlying paint the previous owner used.

soon I will be painting the craigslist power wheels jeep I bought for my sons christmas present. I hope I dont have any problems with the plastic.

Final update for 2009

Well it should have the hard top on and be shoved in the barn for winter storage by now, but up untill wednsday we have been having warmer weather here in michigan and I have been able to get stuff done. Other than Fixing a spring over conversion, the paint, and the rims and tires I picked this Bantam TC3 trailer up pretty much as you see it. I will have to redo the paint some time next year, as the primer and topcoat(rattlecan) that the previous owner used wecked havock with the paint I tried to put over top of it.

It is really nice to get praise from a fellow peer. I built the jeep on a shoestring bugdet back when I had a good job. I lost my good job because I wasn't good at kissing my bosses @$$, I lost my crappy job (GM suplier) right at the bailout. Before money was always tight. now I have been out of work four months. I am suffering from deppresion because for the first time ever my 31year career has pretty much vanished. WHEN SOMEBODY TAKES THE TIME TO GIVE ME PRAISE ABOUT MY JEEP, IT HELPS TO GIVE ME BACK SOME OF THE SELF RESPECT I HAVE LOST FROM BECOMING A DRAIN ON THE SYSTEM.
thanks again from a victim of the global economy.
Dude, if you have been working for that long, you are NOT a drain on the system. You have been putting money in the pot for many years, now your just withdrawing a fraction! And you have an AWSOME jeep! I only wish I had thought of it and had the talent to do something like that!

Thanks, I do think I have both vision and talent. I really would enjoy working on building prototype stuff for jeep. the Ironic thing is that I have been working in automotive engineering for 31 years. I could walk out into the back yard of the house that I am losing to forclosure, I could shoot a gun and blow out a window on the north side of the Chrysler Tech Center (I live that F@#4in close) yet do ya think I could even get a resume into that place, let alone get a job there.
