My Blue KJ

I know, I know, it's a Liberty. But hey I got it as a xmas present last year (not really since I paid for half of it). So I thought I'd start a build thread over on here since I have one on L.O.S.T. and KJ country.

Here she is unfortunately stock for the most part

Copied the door handles from tommudd (sorry tom I liked them too much)

A foggy headlight that needs to be refurbished (the foglights are completely oxidized). I'm going to refurbish them and post some more pics of the Libby tomorrow.

Here's the location of each of my led strips. They're all wired to the controller, I got the kit online the manufacturer is LEDGLOW, they've got plenty of different options for led kits, the one I have has 15 different options I can have the led's do i.e. strobe, fade in and out, go with the music etc.

Did a little wheeling in Wharton. (1/23/13)

Me and my buddy's exploder.

The entrance to the trail.

Some busted up tires.

One big ol' puddle.

Here I go!

Here's a rainmade lake.

Look's like someone abandoned ship.

Just a tad muddy.

Hmm that sand looks a little soft...

Someone dug a hole.

The exploder's custom headlights.

And this is what happens when you park in soft sand, you get stuck.

The aftermath of getting out. (wish I took a pic of the sand flying)

Here's where we stopped, we didn't know how deep it was and decided to turn back. (neither of us had a winch)

You'd think he learned the first time what happens when you park in soft sand.

Liberty to the rescue!

He decided after a little tow that he was good to go... Well he was wrong. Liberty to the rescue again!

The exploder trying to turn around.

Libby patiently waiting.

And he gets stuck again.

After an hour of watching him try to get out, I got out the tow strap and pulled him out again and headed home. Liberty 3, Exploder 0.

So I'm in the process of deciding on which aftermarket diff cover to go with. I'm leaning towards the solid chrysler 8.25 cover as it is 1/2 and 1/3 the price of the other 2 cover I'm looking at (crane and riddler). Once I get the cover in I'm going to do a rubber undercoating of the whole under carriage (the rust cancer is beginning to set in). Which diff cover would you guys go with and how many cans of rubber spray would you guys think I need?

I have no advice on the diff cover as I've never had one and bashed mine enough to know that just redoing the gasket, as long as the cover isn't dented, will fix the leaking that occurs after a hit.

As for the undercoating, make sure you sand and get rid of as much visible rust as possible otherwise it will continue to form under the coating and ruin any metal. I would buy 3 or 4 cans depending on how much you actually plan to undercoat (axles or whatnot).
