My 99 TJ Build- College Student Style

Alright so I've had this TJ for 3 years now after selling my beloved YJ. I picked it up from the second owner, all stock, for $7200. Building it has been very slow as I've been in school the whole time...luckily I graduate in May (may the spending really begin ).
Anyways here's my old 95 YJ on 31's:

And here's what the TJ looked like after getting it home. I took the 31's off the YJ and stuck them under the TJ :

Here are the two together just before the YJ left forever . Also, as you can see, the YJ was so pissed at me for selling her, she decided to spring a steering box leak literally 1 hour before the new owner was to pick her up:

It didn't take long before the bug hit, so that summer I put on a 2.25" BB, and got rid of the front jugs and sidesteps. Don't ask why the RE sticker is on there, I thought it was cool at the time :

Then painted the flares:

And proceeded to wheel it for a while like that:

I then got a Flowmaster 40 and, as you saw, CB, KC lights and windshield brackets. I also Herc'd the tub and rockers. This past spring, I put on a 1.25" RC BL and 1" RC MML:

Then, I trimmed the fender flares and got a set of 33 x 12.50 BFG ATs for $400 brand new!!!

God so much flex

Playin in the snow!

After that, I picked up a spare with 90% tread and a wheel for $60. Yea, I've been runnin into some good rubber deals

More recently, I got a Smittybilt XRC Stinger. I love this bumper so far. It seems to be very well made...and no I don't care about the supposed powder coat issues.:

Yesterday I finished mounting my fogs and RC 3.25 lift. Thanks Jeff!! Everything went smooth:

Now I'm waiting on my rear bumper/ tire carrier. Once taxes come in, I plan on the following (hopefully):
Rocker guards with side steps- probably Smittybilt...we'll see
8.8 from the JY
GEARS!!!

Updates to follow. Thanks for lookin!

Looks great so far. What KC fog lights are those? Good choice with the 3 1/4" lift, looks good. You plan on going with the SRC rear bumper too? I'll be following this one!

Thanks! They're just the typical KC Daylighters...nothin special. And yes I'm getting the cheapo SRC rear.

sweet TJ...traded a YJ over the summer for my current 98 sahara and haven't looked back a second. i am also a poor poor man going to college and like the "lesser" (or so claimed by the real "jeepers") builds on this site. just one question...

WHY WOULD YOU HERC THE TUB? do you not enjoy carpet or having a remotely nice interior?

Great build, I love the color of the Jeep too!
You have been getting awesome deals on those tires haha.
I removed my carpet also and herc'd the inside, just so much more convenient. Granted, its noisier, but I dont have to deal with getting the inside dirty, muddy, or wet and icy, I can just spray it, clean it up, and go!

Keep the pics coming btw

Yea I love the color. I've only ever seen one other like it in the last few years. A lot of people say its a girl green, but I don't think so. And no, I don't enjoy carpet. It was all muddy, nasty, and stank. It has a few leaks so everytime it rains, I have a nice puddle in the floorboard. And I herc'd the tub there because it was full of scratches and dings anyways. It will be getting covered by rocker guards anyways, so it isn't a big deal to me.

What kind of rocker guards you thinking of getting? I'm opting for the Rubicon rockers, since I like the clean look to them. Thats what I like about your Jeep, its clean and functional.

A few small updates:
Got my Shottybilt rear bumper/ tire carrier on. I don't care what anybody says..its a solid bumper and I have had ZERO problems with it. Install was smooth and simple, and it has been working great thus far. I bought it off a buddy for $200 and it has no problems with the PC after 2 years..so don't even start on that.

I also picked up this beast today for $100:

Explorer 8.8 rear, 3:73s, and LS.

FINALLY, tomorrow I'm picking up a HP D30 for $50

I plan on rebuilding both of these axles this summer and regearing them to 4.56. Just Empty Every Pocket...ain't that the truth
