Links are all in and adjusted, shocks and coils are on. Brake lines are ran. Bleeder valve broke off the passenger side caliper so I have to go get another one tomorrow. This happened last time I had to bleed the brakes on it too. It will get done tomorrow, whether I have to skip work or not, because we've got a wheeling trip planned Saturday that's been planned for a long time.

ffice" />Are these the frame side brackets you are talking about you wish you had gone with? If not would you mind posting the right link? I suppose I could just call them too. So you are running a fixed joint on one end Johnny on the other end? Is that the way people normally run the mid arms? I was thinking most run a Johnny on both ends? True or not? |

Actually if I had to pick now I'd go with these for the lower:
Heavy Duty Frame Link Mount And these for the uppers: Adjustable Frame Upper Link Bracket, 25 Degree [ADJ25U] - $55.00 On the uppers I've got Johnny Joints on both ends, on the lowers I have a bushing on one end. I've heard people do it both ways, but I figured the bushing might make it a bit more road friendly. On to the progress pics...they're crappy cell pics but still. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Well it's all done finally. Took it and drove it around town for a bit and it drives great. Had to take it to the muffler shop though to get the hack job exhaust fixed. We had to move the cat and muffler forward so I had him put a hanger on it and finish weld the new joint, Andrew couldn't get the top of the pipe and it sounded horrible.

Went wheeling Saturday and had a great time, got some good pics too. I have this set and then I'm waiting on another set that should have a few better flex shots in it. I was extremely happy with the mid-arms, they flexed so much better and felt a lot more planted on hillclimbs. No more bouncing around searching for traction like it used to do with the short arms. I also got stuck on Rocky Road and got to use the winch for the first time, it worked just as I'd expected and I can say I'm very happy with it. Although I need to get the E-Locker I bought in, if I'd had it I wouldn't have been stuck in the first place.

I've kinda let this thread die for a while, just because I haven't done a lot to the jeep. But I have Mastercraft Rubicons in the mail, and possibly a KOZ cage coming soon.
I don't really have a camera but my friends did, so I'm just stuck waiting for pics to show up on facebook all the time. But a buddy just dumped a bunch of his so here's some. More to come. cgmrdc on cheap trick ![]() ![]() The CJ doing what it does worst...flexin ![]() Someone in the NOBS group took a wrong move ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Trying to get some traction on Bryson's unflexible stocker ![]() Brittany's purple jeep ![]() |

And the only carnage of the day...the CJ got rolled. Zach (the driver) unfortunately got his fingers crushed between the cage and the windshield, but we learned today that he'll get to keep all of them. The two girls were in it at the time too, but other than bumps and bruises they are okay. It really sucked, but he's already lined up 44's to go under it now.

I'm not sure if that was all the travel in the rear I had or not, but that was me running out of down-travel in the front. I moved up a little more and the rear was still down, but the passenger front tire was hanging. Maybe some of those fancy high-lines would help! Either way, I do need new shocks, but I want to outboard them too. But I want to wait on that till I can stretch the rear. It just never ends.
You've definitely got me beat on flex, and it sure looks good doing it. |

I hear ya on the "well ive got all this stuff i want to do, and i dont want to do it twice but i really need to fix this now"
My current dilema... Ive got everything i need to do the wj swap and my brakes are ready to be replaced but i want to push my front end forward, and mid arm the front... but i reallly need to get rid of the jacking of the rear tracbar so i want to do the rear before the front... stupid jeep mods lol.... why does this have to be my only vehicle?

Haha having all this stuff to do to it sure makes me want to buy a truck. But I'd go ahead and do the rear how you want it first. You'd be amazed how much better the rear feels going up hillclimbs and just driving around on the street. Plus the flex is way better.
Once I get my HP30 locked and regeared then I'm going to do the front midarm when I'm putting it in. |
