my 96 zjisbroke help!!!????

I have a 96 grand cherokee andwhen i plug it up at auto zone and ect. It says catalyst failure but idkcus eceryone tells meif my cat was badit would get cherry red hot and it never has just looses power and one day i was driving and i heard a huge clank and i pulled over to check her out and its pulling driving forward like struggling and when i saw everything was good i tried to back out and she wouldnt go backwards..shell go into reversebut will NOT roll backwards not even inneutral HELP ME I DONT HAVE MONEY TO WASTE AND SHES SUCH A STRONG JEEP I NEED HER FIXED WHAT IS IT????
