my 94 ZJ build... AKA the Spruce Moose

figured its about time to start a build thread on my Cheapo 300.00 budget beat turned DD/Wheelin rig...

so, some back story, my best friend of 15 years has had a few jeep, as have I, i got out of them and into chevy truck. After killing my 90 Chevy 1500 i got out of the 4x4 world for about 3 years... then my buddy comes to me and say " Hey Ben, the Grand Chero crapped out, im bored with it and want to buy a V8 96 ZJ..." so i said well dude, heres 300.00 clams, gimmie the title and let tow it up to the casa...

so here its was... 3 Benjis in and i was lovin it, 1994 Larado, 4.0, with a rebuilt auto and tcase, 230K and just wouldnt run...

after a few hours of tinkering and research in here, i found that i wasnt getting spark to all te plugs... all it needed was a good tune up, (cap, rotor, wires, plugs, and fuel filter)... and an intake gasket and IACV, and she was purring like a bulldog lol,

discovered the typical header crack, and the muffler was rotten...

so it was time for some exhaust work, CAT delete, and a Thrush glasspack, into a stock tailpipe
out with the old...
in with the new...

then i got working n the smashed up fender, fogged up headlights and crappy chrome grille...

then it was time to get my roofrack in the trees, thanks to Craigslist, i picked up a used rustys pair or 3.5" front springs and lower control arms for 100.00 and started into the build, then i picked up a set of D-holes and bald 31s for 50.00 and i was on a roll...

Stock...

lifted...

up there! finally!

then the 3 tone paint was getting to me, and what better for a budget lifted jeep, then camo!

finally took it wheelin, and it did really good, especially with the Bald 31s

good until this happened!

after that i NEEDED new tireds, so back to Craigslist, and low and behold, a set of mudkings 31s not to far from me, on jeep rims, 5 of them for 2 bills... turns out the seller has a YJ and is on the Here too!

so this is how shes looking now, sittin well, and a few pics from a couple small wheelin trips today...

Hope yall like it! more updates soon!

Well... went looking for trouble aka mud and I found it... in excess... long story short, a 1ton ford diesel, an s10 on 32s, a flat tire (mud in the bead ) and 3 hours I finally got out
