read the whole thing. awesome build, beautiful jeep man. how about turbocharging it ? YJs are easy to boost and it really helps out on the street and when you need a bit more grunt in a tough spot...long hillclimb ...deeper than expected hole. Its not like you'd expect, in low range they spool quick. youve covered all bases so far and I cant think of anything your jeep really " needs " and its been done a bunch of ways so theres no big mystery to turbocharging a yj 2.5. just a thought...planting the seed. the build is great regardless and keep it goin! Ive spent the last year trying to RE-do all the horrible half a$$ mods I did to my jeep over the last years because of my lack of knowing any better...thinking I knew better... expediency... or percieved cost benefit and I'm slowly sorting out the mess Ive made. Your doing everything the right way the first time and its really paid off .

Thanks for the props man! I would love to add some more power but that is further down the line for the jeep for now! I need to beef up the rear end (8.8) I don't know how much my super 35 would like the extra power!

So for the first time since I owned the jeep I fix the oil pressure gauge! I broke down and spent the 30 bones for a new oil pressure sending unit, the pic I posted are the cold idol pressure and the hot idol pressure what do you guys think of these numbers? the man reason I pushed to fix this today was because this morning when I fired the old pig up it had a nice knock to it (sounded like it had no oil) which lasted for about 20 seconds. It ran fine all day today and has't done it since but it worried me. I thought maybe I had the wrong weight oil in it but I think it was a fluke deal or something (I run delo 400 10w30) I will just have to keep on the look out to see if it does it again!

10 psi per 1000rpms you're golden man!

That knock still worries me though.

Oh and turboing a 2.5 is still more effort and money then it is worth. Trust me I've looked into it enough and watched the builds on 4bangerjp.com

well, I would say more trouble than its worth for most...but if your into turbo stuff, know people who are and the parts are cheap or free its a no brainer.
In reality they usually put out average 4.0 type power to the wheels, maybe an edge on the tourque but its still a touch lighter and is just neater than a typical swap.
I toyed around with a bunch of ideas , 4.3 chevy is a great choice for a jeep. A buddy of mine runs a 4.3/700r4 setup yj on 37s and scout axles and its incredible, he's in his early 70s and wheels the hell out of it.
I guess if the 2.5s still strong its probably fine with those 4.88s, hopefully that knock isnt a warning sign of trouble on the horizon.

So I had a buddy give me a old junk Tj upper to you around with and look like they should work great with my softtopper! I am going to buy a nice set from him for 150! I know that last leg needs welded back on but keep In mind this was a text fit! Today I also got my new seatbelt buckle from quadratec so no more duck tape for me! Lol

Hey just wondering how your steering is? im running 4inch black diamond lift with 33 12.5s and my jeep wanders all over the road. This may seem like a dumb question and i may have missed it but what all have you done with your steering if anything? and also did you jeep not have power steering before or is that what you did to help? (mine does have PS)

no I did't have power steering to begin with!, it is on my top 5 of favorites mods so far! The only thing I have done to my steering it besides add power steering is replace the lower shaft bearing (knocked it loose out wheeling) and also threw my old zj stock pitman arm on. my jeep runs straight down the rd. you might check the little ujoints in the steering shaft for play if those are bad I would imagine it would make it wander!

So I am looking to do a cheap (60 dollars) mod and have narrowed it down to either a steering box brace or a set of gen right hood louvers! I don't even know if add a gear box brace would be worth the time since I am only on 33s right now all tho I am locked in the front, and I don't over heat or anything like that I just really like the look and idea of louvers! so with that said what should I do first lol?

here is a link to the louvers I want
http://www.genright.com/ProductInfo....ductid=LVR1006

and here is a link to the more sb brace

Thanks for the props woody! I just got the phone with genright and have a set of long black hood louvers on the way (they are on a 2 week back order) I can't wait to cut some holes in my good hood! Also I got a tracking # from brown dog so I should have my motor mounts real soon!
