So I think you have it backwards. The 44 seems to go from 5.38 to 5.89 from what I can find...So you're right that the only match will be 5.13.

Matching 44s in 5.38 is starting to sound pretty sweet to my ears. It'll work (maybe a little low for 35s) but if/when 37s happen for me, or just a ton of weight (bead locks, etc) I'll have that little bit of wiggle room...

Cheers
Very well could be off but I think 5.38s with 35s would be a great oower combo, I think the 5.13 should be ok since one day I hope to have v8 power! But like I said I hope it worth the swap going from 4.88s to 5.13........ I figured might as well regear the 8.8 during the arb install since I can now go a bit deeper!

Yeah, but good luck getting the 44 to live long on 39.5s. You still have smaller u-joints not to mention a small (relative) diameter stub. In fact, the joint is the same as what you're running now.

I'm having trouble keeping mine together on 37s, at least I was before I put in RCV shafts. I've got it to where now the 1310s in my driveshaft are the weak link, which I'm happy with. Easy to swap and easy to carry spares.

In the end I have a 44 that cost as much as a 60.

But then again, I went though short side shafts like crazy on 35s in my YJ until I went to full circle clips/chromo shafts..may be the driver (I'm sure it is)

I know the biggest up grade of the 44 is the larger ring gear and the abilty to run deeper gears but keep in mind I am wheeling 37s with a dana 30 and its held up so far and I know its not ideal.......I may never get 39.5s but I would like to haha and you right about outer stubs the ghe shafts that come with it are chromo 30 spline so the rcv may be in my future as well. I still think I would rather have a built 44 over a heavy 60!

Allright I pulled the trigger on my rear cage kit today cant wait to get it haha, I am thinking about getting sound vdp 6x9 sound wedges and amping them so I would have a total of 6 speakers going in her, forgot to mention I sold my sub amp to a buddy to fund my wifes birthday gift/dinner. I plan on going with 2 10s during the next growth spurt. Ok I will stop chating about the system now since most wont care haha!

I had 2 tens in mine, firing against the tailgate. It was so loud being in such a small area.

Run an amp. I have my 125 watt rms speakers running on a 500 watt amp. They sound amazing

Dude, they will sound great. I bought my Kenwood 6x9s. They sounded gutless. Then I hooked up the amp and adjusted the gain properly. Wow, what a difference. I'm going to get an 8" sub too. Just as a sound filler. It's amazing what 6x9s can sound like properly used.
