You should go with the D44/8.8 with RCVs and run 4Ds. You're about due for new tires anyways.

Yeah man, 4d's all the way, but you should go tons instead of a 8.8/d44 combo. I know you're getting tired of those tires.

Hahaha, we all know where this jeep build is headed! LS motor, Tons, and 44s

This thread has convinved me i want a yj!!! im in afghanistan now but i get back in march and i think i want to sell my truck and get one. my only concern is that i drive a 04 gmc now that has never given me any trouble. if i take my time in finding a decent one that isnt too beat up how reliable do you think it would be? kinda makes me uncomfortable selling my truck for something 10+ years older then what i have now. Im stationed in louisiana so i can find one that isnt all rotted out like back home in CT. i guess my biggest concern is having my only vehicle crap out on me and leave me stranded.

If it was me I would find a product yj and keep the truck, yj's or any rig for that matter can only be as reliable as the po allow. Meaning if the po kept up on the up keep (oil, coolant,ATF, etc)

....With a 2.5L in conditions that can be a bit sloppy and traction is hit and miss.
