That looks great!
yeah, I'm looking forward to the Black Rim Look.
What did you do with your Alcoa's??
Im wondering if anyone would buy them....

That Swing Carrier you ordered looks great...especially for that price!!
Does it have a towing capacity or is it only rated for accesories??

My alcoa's are sitting in the basement for now. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them. Since they're forged I figure selling them would be easy tho.

I'm hoping the carrier turns out nice. From what I've read Nate's work is amazing but his customer service is terrible. I sent Nate an email a few weeks back with a few questions. I did ask about the towing capacity. Here's the response:

At this time I am working solo and am unable to answer the incredible
amount of email I receive on a daily basis while still keeping up on
filling orders. Please contact me by phone at 989-708-9482 for Sales
and Service. Thanks and sorry for any inconvenience. -Nate

I know the bumper comes with frame tie-in's, chain tabs, and the receiver is thru-welded. Considering the only thing I tow is a small 4x6 trailer with my 400ex I figure I'll be OK. Couldn't tell ya about towing something larger.

You tj looks great! Be sure to post up some pics/review of the new lift!!

Thanks for the compliment! I will post the play-by-play on the install!
Let me know how long it takes for you to get that carrier! I may go that route!

Maintenance Weekend...

Well, since I have yet to get my Lift Kit from RC OR receive my tax refund to order my tires/wheels, I decided to do some maintenance.

I changed the oil- I went with Mobil 1 oil & filter. Of course AFTER I did I read some stuff on the forum that Mobil 1 may not be too good for the engine...so next oil change I'm switching to something else. The decision will be do i stick with synthetic or Dino? Which brand? There are so many different opinions that I can't decide. I want to stick with synthetic... perhaps Royal Purple or Valvoline. Anyone want to chime in on the oil issue?

I also lubed the chassis, cleaned the throttle body and replaced my plugs for the first time (39k). I went with Autolite APP985's- their double platinum. The jeep definately runs better...that's for sure!

NOTE:

I just a 50mile round trip... I must say that the Autolite APP985's are a marked improvement from the original NGK's that were in there. I felt a lot more power. A special thanks to Jerry Bransford for his numerous posts on Spark Plugs and the reccomendation of these plugs for distributorless 4.0L's.

Needless to say...I couldn't wait for the tires to get here to put on the lift!
I had many challenges along the way but overall...it went ok. Today, I just had it aligned and it's ok...even withOUT relocating the front track bar!

I'll post more pics and more info later!

Thanks!

Yeah... it looks good and feels great driving. I had it up to 70 today with no wobble and the alignment is great! I ordered my rims/tires on 3/6 and they shipped out THAT DAY! They will be here on 3/12!!!

Before and After Measurements

Stock:

from driveway to bottom of frame rail = 14"
from driveway to bottom of body = 19.5"

After both Lifts:

...to bottom of frame rail = 17.25" = 3.25" total suspension lift
...to bottom of body = 23.75" = 4.25" with both sl and bl

So, I did NOT get 4.5" of lift from the way I took measurements...but I am happy anyway.

This lift rides great...stiffer than stock but i love the feel of it.
Today, I finished re-engineering my shifter bezzel for a bit more clearance. All I did was file it back about 1/2".

One thing though... In order to cut the plastic shifter plate under the console, I had to cut the rubber insulator/boot thing that covers the hole thru the body. Anyone have a good idea for a repair??? I was thinking of using window tape. I want to prevent fumes/noise from coming through.

Clunking Noise

While Im swapping tires later on today, I am going to re-torque the fron end...I seem to have an intermittent CLUNKING noise when starting out or turning. So far, I couldn't pin point it.

I did re-torque the body mount bolts and the accesible suspension bolts, yesterday but the noise is still evident.
