My 1998 xj 2dr build

Hey folks.

So I have been kicking around here for a while now and have done enough stuff to my jeep that its time for a build thread:cheers:

First off I bought my girl last summer for $3300. 98', two door 5 speed with 190,000 kms with no rust :D

Bought it 100% stock (No pics so sawy :()

A couple weeks after I bought it I threw a 3" rough country lift kit on, with some jk disco's. Also I had a some 31" mt's from a previous truck so I threw them on there with a new set of 3" offset rock crawlers :D A lot of change all at once. At that point it sat like this:

A month or so later I painted my flares black. I used fusion paint I believe. Don't hate on the ghetto tape job I didn't feel like taking them off

Then I did some wheeling:cheers2:

Didn't do anything to it in the winter....
Other than get it stuck as balls at the end of my driveway:rolleyes: So embarrassing. Good ol mud terrains in the winter..

Now that most of the snow is gone I have been working on it a bit more. I was outside today and was changing my oil filter and decided to pull off my runners  So here is as followed...

Yikes

Making some progress....

Then after a couple of hours and some tired fingers I got this

And thats all for now.

Parts on the way are:
Tow hooks
New adjustable track bar (getting rid of clunk old ones shot)
Vision X lights
-
Also pulling out carpet and bed lining the inside of my doors and bottom half. Black and red baby!

Thinking about:
New bumpers
Tire holder - anyone know where to get a cheapish one? I have a full size spare and would like to mount it somewhere

and last of all I am thinking about taking my flares off all together and doing a bit of trimming.
As of now this is how she sits:

Any questions or comments I would love to hear them! Thanks for looking.

Nice looking 2 door XJ, should throw a roof rack or something like that on there. Cant wait to see what next. I have always been a fan of the 2 door Cherokees, wish I could find one.

thanks dude! I am not a huge fan of roof racks. they have to be nice. I might be mounting my spare on the top soon though so we will see what happens haha

Didn't think about that. I know a guy but I'm not too sure how good he is

sucks you dont live in NJ, or else i could suggest someone to help you. if you search, theres a few threads about homemade/using other SUV tire carriers like a Bronco II.

no problem man, if you can find a stock tire carrier in the junkyard still attached to the bumper (if you want the bumper) youd be golden but you can always customize one. good luck man, ill keep an eye out on DIY for you and also how you progress :)
