My 1982 CJ-7

Here's my 1982 CJ-7 like it says in the title. It's a clean son of a gun with only 140k on the clock. The PO who had it for a couple of months bought it from an older lady who had it garaged for 10 years and drove it before that.

My plans for the next couple of months are minor because I have no more money lol. Doing as much cheap/free work that I can do while I wait for kids to realize they need tutoring so I can make some money off 'em.

First thing I'm going to do is do a complete service change everything out.

I'm thinking about a 2.5 in lift with 33's. That's as high as I want to go so I'm going to save for the top of the brand lift (What should I look for?) Done

Touch up paint on hard top.

Going to fab up a rear bumper, not to sure on how I want to design it yet though.

Front Bumper (Warn) Done

Going to fab a new tire carrier with a luggage rack on top.

Going to fab up an expedition style roof rack.

Going to fab up rockers. Done, but bought from BTF

Take off crappy purple tint. Done

Going to fab a flag mount.

Upol raptor line the tub.

Get me a working radio going. Done

Warn M8000 Winch.

X amount of off road lights. X= 2 KC atm. Done

Rough country Boomerang shackles. Done

Well I haven't updated in quite a while. A college budget is tight especially when I just tutor kids for money. I've added a 3 in. Black diamond suspension lift and 32x11.50 KM2s.

Here are some poser pictures.

Rubbing quite a bit in the back at full flex you can hear it hit the metal with that nasty rubbing sound. I'm going to buy the Rough Country Boomerang shackles this week.

I have quite a bit planned for it although for now it's not getting any bigger.

Thanks a lot.

So this is what I'm planning to get done by summertime. Who knows if it will happen or not lol!

Warn M8000 Winch.
Fab up a bunch of stuff including but not limited to-
Front and rear bumper with swing out tire carrier
Rocker Guards
X amount of off road lights. X= 2 KC atm.
Rough country Boomerang shackles

And I'm pretty sure that's about it for now.

Got a car was in today lol not much but it's still an update. She was to full of mud and I want to get her ready for the raptor lining that should be coming soon.

I forgot how white this jeep actually is since I haven't washed it since ever.

Thanks and it's all original still except for the lift. Got some body damage on the passenger side though. Good thing it's metal cuz it's nothing a rubber mallet and some time can't fix.

Good choice on the lift. good lifts aren't cheap and cheap lifts aren't good.

Don't touch up the paint man. that thing is an ORIGINAL SURVIVOR and it's perfect!!

Put a one inch body lift to clear the tires, the original rubber body mounts are probably rotten anyways.

needs a soft top, that spice hardtop does nothing for it

and unless your going to wheel it hard I wouldn't put a cage in it it's eats up your interior space really bad and just isn't necesary unless your blasting full speed up hill climbs.

you don't find many jeeps that original. it's RARE, don't butcher it. it's worth more the closer you can keep it to original.

Thanks a lot I'm all about quality with this build I will not cheap out on anything.

What I mean about touch up is just hit the little scrapes and chips with some paint to cover those up.

I'm looking at a small shackle lift with the boomerang shackles or a 1 in. body lift.

I would really like a full soft top with soft doors but I'm running top off for most of the year in the beautiful weather of El Paso, Texas.

I wouldn't dare butcher this jeep. I plan on tube fenders but I will be buying another set of fenders that are beat up that I can cut up.

Ugh! Found out this weekend that the windshield frame is warped due to my stupidity. Have another expense on my hand but I have all the way til next winter to get the windshield replaced or fixed so I can put the doors and top back on.
