Found the other lifter, it must have fallen out when I was working on it and gotten kicked... it rolled under the tool table in the garage.

On the brightside, my G/f must really love me after all, she snuck behind my back and got with my parents to score me this 1971 225 from a Jeepster with 56k on the ticker... I should be able to have the jeep running and driving by the end of the week.

That IS if I can get the rest of this manifold bolt out that has been giving Adam and I hell.

She's a keeper. I'm parting out a 225 right now. Lemmee know if you need any odds and ends.

You're one lucky man to have a girlfriend like her. If you don't keep her, give her my number!

Glad to see you're getting it running soon!

Yep I am really lucky, I don't know why but she puts me ahead of herself a little too much, I honestly would have had her put the money she spent on this in the bank, as much as I want to drive the CJ this summer, it could have waited. I have her parents and grandparents blessings as of Christmas, so as soon as I can afford a ring, she will have one.

Been following your build up for several months, really hated to see the motor problems after all the work you've done. Glad to see your getting it back on track. With your g/f's blessings.

Keep up the good work

Worked our asses off last night, the new motor is in, running, and driving! Need to do some minor stuff, IE install PS pump, swap a starter bolt, oil change, sand, sand, sand, paint, but it looks like it will make the willy's reunion!

This engine runs 10X better then the other one, I think the guy had some wild cam in the other one based on how this stocker runs.

It may not look super pretty, but it will be there among its bretheren

The original 1945 flatty radiator with the electric fan seems to cool it well too, I hope it stays that way, it was idling a good half hour AFTER it was hot with outside temps up over 70*

I still do not have any leaks, I should go talk to my radiator guy and tell him he is a POS for telling me it leaked because he pressure tested it at double the rated pressure. I asked when I picked up up from moving the outlet, he said he tested it at 15psi, my response was you DO realize it isn't rated for over 8psi right?

Well I didn't take it to the reunion... I wasn't paying 3.50/gallon to tow it there, and maybe end up being the ugliest one there. She is definitely coming along though, and hopefully I can paint it soon... I have been stalling on the body work because I hate it soooo much. I took the Focus and used $10 in gas there and back

I DID however take it to the Owosso cruise to the castle for a lap, and to the movies. I need an overflow tank, and I think maybe a new radiator cap... this one just doesn't cut it, and I think I was running like 220ish, but the HF gauge is a POS, so I bought a factory gauge while I was at the Willy's Reunion for $5... I also scored a factory fuel and OP gauge too, AND a factory tire hanger for $10

Here are pics of the new motor installed, It needs another air cleaner, coolant overflow, and I think a new radiator cap. It was running 220 according to the cheap harbor freight temp gauge. I bought factory gauges for it at a swap meet last weekend (all but volts) and need to install them.

I think installing the heater will bring it down more too.

More pics...

Been slowing on it even though the weather is better, had to work on the house a little (landscaping and such)

AND I scored a $20 special...

Somehow I missed the update. So she lives again? Awesome! Love that spare tire hanging there.

Well kinda/sorta she started overheating like a MOFO. Either a plugged radiator, or bad water pump. I am going to flush the radiator, and change the water pump and see what happens. I drove it for a week before it happened... I just hope the HF gauge wasn't THAT far off... the factory gauge is pegging and it is boiling over.
