Got work on the jeep a little bit yesterday. I had one of those pesky "surprise issues" last week after buttoning everything up on the anti rock. The jeep jumped to 2000 rpms at start up and stayed there. I had been planning on cleaning the throttle body and IAC anyways so I figured now was a good time. So I followed this write up and got it done.
I was actually very surprised at how clean the IAC module was inside, it had almost no gunk in there. So I cleaned everything best I could anyways.
One thing interesting was that the breather hose from the throttle body to the MAP sensor had a split up the middle. Can anyone shed some light as to whether this could have been the culprit?
I sealed up the tear and put everything back together and cranked her up. After a few cycles of startup up it seems to have come back down to a nice idle around 800-900 rpms. I test drove and everything seems to check out however I think it needs a little more run time before I'm convinced its "case closed" and not another vacuum leak somewhere else
