yo install the lift yourself, its not that hard... you should only need coil compressor, and sockets to fit the u-bolts, shocks, and the bolts on the shackles. start hitting everything with PB blaster, will make your day much easier... i hit every bolt on mine for about a month and didnt break one bolt, not even a rear shock bolt
yeah your cat could be clogged up a bit too. My friend is helping me put the lift on over thanksgiving break. Hes got a 2000 XJ on 33s soon to be longarms and 35s, he knows what hes doing lol.

Yeah I'm keeping my 30s for a bit till they wear out. Might move up to 245s this summer depending on funds and how much I work. I'm probably going with the Goodyear Duratracs.

Yeah I'm either going 245s or 31s. I wanna keep my wheels but a wheel with different backspace will allow for a wider tire. I like the look of the wider stance but don't wanna spend a ****ton of money on wheels. I like the Icons so much I just might get spacers and run it.

The PB Blaster spraying has begun. I also ordered some Kroil. My buddy with the '89 XJ has a dad who rebuilds Corvettes and he swears by the stuff. Says it frees rusted bolts better than PB Blaster.

Bought some JK shocks off eBay today

So far I have most of the lift parts but my springs are on backorder from quadratec. I'm kinda pissed because I ordered them back in October. I called like 4 times and they forgot to ship it, then I call again and they say its on backorder.

I usually like Quadratec but I should've gone with someone else.

Update:

I have most of what I need for the lift. I'm still waiting on my Rough Country lower BPE's to come in as well as some new shock bushings since I mangled the upper rears in the JK shocks getting the bar pins out. I ****ing hate bar pins SO MUCH.

The lift probably won't go on this weekend because I have too much school work to do and my friend whos going to help me is also very busy. It will most likely go on December 16th ish after the semester ends unless I find time before that. I'll make sure and post pics of the install... that is if I still have fingers afterwards. Hopefully it won't be snowing.

Heres a pic of the parts I do have:

-OME 2" medium duty leafs (will give about 2.25" of lift)
-2011 JK Unlimited Rubicon shocks with 23 miles on them
-Heavy duty U-bolts
-2" front IRO coil spacers

I also recommend using Kroil on rusty bolts. You can only get it online but it works even better than PB Blaster. I helped my friend put shocks on his '01 Ranger today and didn't break any bolts. To give you an idea of how rusty his truck is, we had rust falling on us as we were undoing the shocks. I had to sweep up a pile of it afterwards. My other friend's dad rebuilds Corvettes and he also loves the stuff.

Good Question! I probably should have stated that in my list.

-2" front IRO coil spacers I already had from a friend (free) but they are $30 from IRO

-The JK shocks I got off eBay for $46

-The U-bolts I got from IRO for $25

-OME 2" leaf springs are $112 each

-bushings: $40

Total for me was: $335 without shipping. Add in the IRO spacers and its $365.

This isn't as cheap as a budget boost, but its cheaper than larger lift kits and better quality than an Add-a-Leaf. Seeing how its a commuter vehicle I also wanted it to ride fairly nice and with a 2" I hopefully won't be as prone to driveline vibrations or steering issues.
