Any plans to mount a spare tire?

Looking good as usual!

Not at this time, I have a spare Creepy crawler on a steel wheel but I think I'll just bring it along and leave it at camp. If I do decide to carry it about the only places I can fit it is laying flat above the shock mounts and fuel cell or standing up right where my tailgate goes. Both options make it harder to see behind the jeep though.

I worked on the jeep for about 11 hours today, it's sitting on CO's and I couldn't be happier with how everything worked out. For anyone considering CO's in the rear of a stock width TJ, this is what it takes to get it done right with no compromises as far as clearances are concerned.

Some trick CO mounts me and Mike cut out on the DOR Torchmate.

Axle mounts. I decided to mount the COs on top of the axle since I was going through all the trouble so I tossed the mounts I made for the axle side as well.

Tire at full stuff (other side at full droop) comes all the way to the spot welds on the body.

And, tons of clearance for my springs now. The OD dual rate slider on the shock is the same as the OD of the springs so I have a good 1.5" of clearance at full flex. Droop side doesn't even come close to my new frame.

Full droop

This is at ride height. I'm sitting just about exactly how I wanted to with 6" up 6" down, the jeep sits very close to level with the front SA lift and 3" BDS springs.

Overall, I'm beyond excited to test this thing out. I have details to take care of before the first run like brakes, sway bar, driveshaft, new C-pillar tie-ins, painting everything, some front fenders, ect. but the hard part is pretty much done

Thanks James, I'm planning to eventually clean up the interior again and close up some of the holes I've cut during this project for the COs and the UCAs. I didn't need to cut as much of the wheel well as I did around the COs but it will make since later when I close it back up. For now, it's time to make it all function before April 7th and then I'll worry about cosmetics after some wheeling trips.

It changed a whole lot in the past week didn't it? I feel like I did more work in 3 days than I did for the past 2 months lol. In a way, I'm kind of happy the first try didn't work out, it led me to make something I'm much much happier with.

Just make sure you tie the C pillar of the cage to your tube frame to give the coilovers the support they need. Came out very nice, great job, you will love the easy flex, rig something up for a center strap on the back also.

Looks good man. Those holes are gonna be awfully drafty on the highway.
