Yes to wheeling Sunday as long as it isn't pouring (but weather looks great Sunday). Not sure on the right seat, waiting to hear if my co-dawg is coming up. If you want to help in the pits there is a guy from Australia (spelling?) that is coming and looking for some help.

First day of summer break so I got to work on mounting the fuel cell. Pretty much have the mount finished, just need to paint it and pick up a few bolts. It will re-use the rear seat mounting location in the tub.

Start of the the base the cell will sit in

Then I bent up some straps from some 2 x 1/8" steel flat in the shape of the cell

Cell mount pretty much completed with cell in place. I have some foam I'm going to use between the straps and the cell.

Mounting location in the tub with fuel, vent, wiring, and axle breather routed up through the plug in the floor

I will fabricate something eventually to mount the spare behind the cell and that leaves room for tools and such on either side and behind the tire. Only way I could see it all fitting in there. If I swapped the cell and spare I would need 2 or 3 people to get the spare in and out over the cell without damaging anything.

Wow looks like it doesn't take up much room at all. And I gotta say, I love when you post pics with that cage in the background

Cell mount looks great man. I had basically the same design in mind but I think I may go with the ATX motorsports mount instead.

Thank you. And yes, I won't be leaving it like that. I just finished pulling them through in that picture but plan to wrap the hoses and wires to protect them where they come through the floor

The ATX mount looks pretty sweet. I just enjoy making my own parts too much. It also helps my wallet.

Don't you have a buggy to be working on

What kind of trails you thinking about running Sunday Mike? I don't know anyone going up so I need to find someone or a group to wheel with if I'm bringing the Jeep. Otherwise I may just show up saturday for RCQ without a Jeep

I'll run what ever you want. I just need to get back on the trail. Haven't been since Oct! In a prefect world I'd like to run some blacks just to test all the new crap out, maybe some time on the crete as well.

Perfect. I enjoy running blacks and playing on the crete course I'm usually stuck running mostly blues with the occasional black when I've been up there with my buddy since he is open/open w/ 32s on his XJ. He doesn't like to beat stuff up.

I'm sure we can find a few trails here and there that have some great "testing" spots for the buggy and less crazy lines for myself. I'm all for pushing my jeep to it's limits. I feel a little better now that I have more armor, a full cage, and now no stock GTS to drag on everything.
