That was an excellent video. Only thing i can add for someone doing BL but not MML, is that its worth it to pull radiator when relocating fan shroud. Entire project took me about three hours. No rusted bolts, no issues for me.

I didnt think a one inch lift would make that much difference, but it did. Very glad i did it. Now I have room for TT skid.

After offroading last weekend (see pics above), i developed a problem with oil pressure dropping to L after engine is warm, and an engine noise at 3000rpm

Changed oil Mobile1 5W-40 full synthetic and Mobile1 filter. Same problem
Replaced oil pressure sender with aftermarket sending unit. Same problem
Cleaned and installed factory unit, with tee fitting for real gauge. Same problem
Auto meter gauge reads about 7 psi at idle cold 3psi warm.

I also have an engine noise that is noticeable around 3000 rpm. Haven't tracked it down yet. Have only drive about 60 miles since weekend. Leaving it parked till i figure it out.

Next is pull valve cover, to take a look around, not sure what ill see if anything.
Drop oil pan to check pickup tube.

Money is tight but plenty of time.

If anyone has any ideas please chime in. Thanks!

Low oil pressure at idle , engine noise around 3000 rpm ,

A 2" auto meter gauge fits nicely in the ashtray blank, just take your time making the hole.

Yes I have, but i don't think low oil pressure is a symptom. I think im looking at bearings as well as OPDA (which i pulled and IS worn, and will also replace)

Little update....

After pulling pan and replacing rod and main bearings, still had low oil pressure. Pulled engine to get to camshaft bearings and found worn cam bearings and loose timing chain. Took block to machine shop to have bearings pressed in, got everything put back together and back in Jeep. Oil pressure is now normal!!

Engine was making piston slap noise at start up. Everything ran great, but i didnt like the noise. My machine shop engine guy said it was normal and probably wrist pin noise. I was not okay with that.

Ordered a new 258 Crankshaft, new rods and .030" over Kieth Black Pistons.....LET THE STROKER PROJECT BEGIN!

I used blue painters tape to protect my fenders, those fenders can accumulate a lot of tools

Nw crank arrived from Titan Engines. Pistons and rings missing

After a few phone calls, Titan is going to 2day ship the pistons. Not sure where the first set went? Titan has been excellent to deal with! Very knowledgable.
Disappointed about waiting two more days but i should have block to machine shop by weeks end. Titan is still my first choice, I recommend them and ill be using them again for sure!

Chuck is to Titan what Dirk is to DPG Offroad.
